Sometimes movies can be confusing if they try to adapt a book and just fuck it all up.
American Psycho is so much tamer than the book, they shouldn't have even tried to make a film from it.
David Lynch did a job with Dune, too. People that see it and haven't read the book often don't know what the fuck it's all supposed to be.

Sorry to hear about your house tho.

The original Dune. I guess it had something to do with the fact that I had previously tried to read the book. Man, you need to take a 2-week study course just to keep all the "houses" and families straight in your head to understand that story.

I didn't get beyond the first 15 minutes, lost interest and turned on something else. No point in sitting through shit you're not into.

Funny, here we are what....12 or 14 years later and I watched it a few months ago on the space channel and liked it.

Ahh, Event Horizon. The movie that meshes horror and sci-fi into one big scary mess. Another example of a movie that you had to be "into" to enjoy it. I liked it.

Vanilla Sky? The Cube? Magnolia? Eyes Wide Shut? Those excellent specimens of film confused some of you?
I liked all of those, except for Vanilla Sky - the big difference was that even all those movies were a little different to the standard movie script, Vanilla Sky was so disconnected that I lost interest.. all the others though were great viewing, especially The Cube!

I couldn't get into Vanilla Sky. Wasn't confusing, just not entertaining.

Most of the other movies mentioned here I liked. American Psycho was great.

Here's a tip: don't watch American Pyscho 2. I think it must have been released direct to video or something, since I never heard of it until it showed up on the movie network on satellite.

It stars William Shatner and that dark-haired chick from That 70's Show. It was horrible.

Wow

I absolutely loved:
Momento
Donnie Darko
Event Horizon

Donnie Darko is a little confusing at the end, only because they leave it wide open to interpretation of fate. Though this is widely discussed on movie message boards.

Momento is one of the best directed movies I've ever seen.

Event Horizon I didn't find confusing at all. Maybe because I'm a sci-fi/horror fan I can grasp those concepts.

I would have to say momento only because I still don't really understand the story line after watching it 3 times. Is he Sammy Jenkins, or were those memories just simply visual scenes. In the end it doesn't really matter.

If you liked Momento rent the Following, done by the same director, has that same choppy feel to it, till the end

I was at a film festival, and saw this film about this tribe of Mongolian horsemen, and the projectionist showed the reels out of order. Talk abut confusing...

damn, everyone took mine - memento & donnie darko, but both movies kicked ass! Also, I just saw Frailty, also pretty confusing & a very different premise - I kinda hated the end but it's part of what made it unique. Check it out...

I made the same mistake, loved American Psycho so when AM2 popped up on the PPV channels I watched it.

What a terrible piece of garbage movie.

I really liked a lot of the movies that have been posted here as "confusing"
One that I could never figure out the plot for is The Thin Red Line
