You're crazy. You've seen that same type of ending in a lot of movies? I don't think so...

Yep. Saw that end coming on about half way through the film, when the old woman said something about the fog.

I don't much care for *scary* movies, and find that most are more funny than scary, but this one did it for me. Those kids were perfect for the part, and that scene where she's messing around with the door.... just standing there moving the door back and forth like she's testing it.... then WHAM, the fucking thing magically slams shut and knocks her on her ass.

I'm going to avoid the basement for a while, let's put it that way.

Agreed. Truly a great creepy movie. And it's great when Hollywood can make a great spooky movie without a lot of blood and gore. I was also impressed with how Nicole Kidman's performance. She has quite a range!

I saw "The Ring" for the first time last night..had a promising opening..and then went straight DOWNHILL from there! blech

I didnt think the movie was scarey, neither was The Ring...I was expecting this "hair raising" movie by the way everybody talked about it..I watched it at 3am - all alone , lights out and it didnt spook or scare me at all
I was VERY disappointed

LOL - I near shit when that happened!

The original version of 'The Ring' is much better than the new one

I've never actually seen the American one yet. Is it worthwhile to rent, or download?

when i flew home for my grandfather's funeral all of my cousins went out to see it together. First time we had all been together in 10 years. At one point my sister actually jumped up on her seat. We of course pretended not to know her.

Very good film. Nice to see a proper ghost story.

one of the best scary movies I've ever seen. Especially if you have the sound system. It needs a good system or you won't be scared

Christ's teeth! I'm telling you...... you can just see it coming....... the sound gets low, she's in a room thinking she heard something, and she turns with her back to fucking camera.......... I HATE when they turn with their back to the fucking camera!......... sound goes lower......... lower........ then something happens and that music........ shit, that fuggin MUSIC kicks in and sends a shit-hemmorage through your lower intestines.

At least this movie didn't have the old cliche scare with the stupid cat jumping up on the window sill. Enough with the scary cats already.

We in Spain are really proud of Alejandro Amenabar, he was the director, story writter, photography director & music composser. He is a fucking genius and still so young. His first movie "Tesis" about snuff movies was really great and a big sucess here some years ago, filmed when he was a 22 years old information sciences student. His second movie at 24 years old, was "Abre los ojos", Tom Cruise buyed the rights of the film and filmed "Vainilla sky" as USA remake. "The others" is his 3rd film, he is 30 years old now and got a very promissing future.
"The others" is really scary, i jumped out of my chair at the cinema when Nicole was hited in the nose by a door. Amenabar claims that he wrote the end before the "sixth sense" was released, and that movie ruined his own movie surprissing end.

Amen.

When I saw the "Others" last year, I quickly guessed the ending but then dismissed it as a "Sixth Sense" ripoff. No way did I think it would have such a copy-cat ending ... but it sure as hell did !

Mrs Mills.

Yes, ma'am?

Do you have any idea
what this might be?

'Tis a photograph album, ma'am.

No, but look.
They're all asleep. Look.

They're not asleep, ma'am.
They're dead. 'Tis a book of the dead.

the creepiest part - when nicole finds that old photo under the mattress
