This guy reminds me of a few characters my wife and I knew of on a few local BBSes back in the day (pre-internet).
One went by the nick Taarna, the other The Intellect. Both excessively creepy, loners...sociopaths. Online, they oozed dysfunction and creepiness - and several of us were convinced it wasn't an act. One of them, 'The Intellect' unexpectedly showed up at a BBS get-together we had...and it became a bizarre sideshow. This guy was incredibly obtuse, naive, socially awkward - like a UFO mothership had just dropped him off in our driveway. We tried our best to include him in conversation and whatnot through the evening, but it just got worse as the night progressed. We lost track of both characters over the years - moved out of the area and shifted to the 'net. I always wondered what became of either of them. |
