My Mac Is Fucked Up!

I've been having a ton of error messages when going to any https web site it said this site can't be trusted even Google.com and Gmail. Also my date and time are wrong! Not sure what happened or how to fix it, any suggestions? FYI my time machine wasn't setup so I can't go back in time to fix it that way.

Click the link to see the error message I get on all of my secure pages http://imgur.com/3gbpIi5

Create a new user account:

SysPref/Users&Groups

unlock and press the + and create a new user with admin rights.

log out of your current user account

boot into new user account and try and run software update then.

what was the name of the app you installed?

Have you tried the new user account and running software update there?

I doubt the photo recovery software is at fault here.

If your date and time are way off then this will make SSL certificates seem wrong, hence the errors when visiting secure sites.

Go to Apple.com and click support. Follow the few clicks to describe the problem & enter your tel# where indicated, and someone from Apple's tech support will call you within minutes.

I don't know if you did the same thing, but my iMac was acting up after I copied data from one machine to another. Apple spent 20 minutes with me on the phone to fix my error, and did not charge me for the service.

Could be anything. PRAM, clock, CMOS

I'd reset PRAM first: boot, and on the chime, hold down COMMAND + OPTION +P +R

Although, it could be bootcamp - do you run that/have it installed?

Does it reset to something like Jan 01, 2001 12:01 AM every time you start up? If so, then start with the motherboard battery (CMOS). As mentioned, the bad date would then cause the SSL certificate warnings.

Why don't you try calling Applecare? Sounds like you have serious issues.

You're not the only one these days. My faith in Apple has been seriously shaken lately.

In normal pc there is separate battery for time. If that battery is weak it will show wrong time. If time is wrong you will get error in https pages.( like gmail.com, youtube, facebook). just manually change the time and date and pages will open normally.

Did you try clearing the cache or just resetting it? I have the same machine and Chrome is fast on mine.

Try using Chromium.

Let me know if that fixes it.

No, a MAC is a specific networking term. Here, it seems someone's CMOS battery has died on their Mac, nothing major.

Thanks for playing though.

I actually found a fix. The problem was you have a flash player you have to download for the machine, chrome has one built into it. So this causes a problem, so the one for the machine has to be disabled in the browser. now its fast, I also downloaded chromium to play with, I have never used it before. Thanks.
