The Observance of Fuck the Earth Day includes a celebration of the earth's resources coupled with the exploitation of those resources. The idea that the earth is not doing it job very well is at the heart of the observance, and many activities which promote this ideas are part of the ritual. Movements to promote exploration into outerspace with programs such as SETI and NASA are widely supported by practitioners of Fuck the Earth Day. The idea that mankind should leave earth behind in the future is a large part of the FTE (Fuck the Earth) ideology.
