Kings! Apparently, as long as we do game 7 in any series, we'll win it. Makes for some exciting games. Would love to see a LA/NY face off!

Far-L 05-23-2014 09:40 AM

Glad the Bruins were put out to the green, green pastures of the golf course. Habs keep surprising me; they play with a lot of heart but might be on the verge of a heart attack. Kings are definitely up to knocking out Chicago, but at this point just hoping for a Original Six match up.

Some good scraps brewing though between these two teams. Gallagher needs to do a little more shit-disturbing and we may have an actual series here. :D

Yup they finally woke up, hopefully they keep up the beat for next game

I'll route for the habs the rest of the way. Mainly because Gallagher is an adorable little ball of hate.

I love how NOBODY mentioned the kings on page 1....NOBODY (minus OP)!!!!

Respect Los Angeles, the birthplace of hockey!!!!! (I'll double check that on wikipedia ;) ). NHL is not my first love, but NO sport has me on the edge of my seat the way a good hockey game does!

We hit it for the Ducks series....Anyone want to see CHI when the series hits LA? PM me and we can get a group going.....

If they woke up it wasn't for long. I have to say though, game 4 last night was the best game of this series so far. Too bad it didn't end well for le Habaneros.

St Louis is the best thing that ever happened to the Rangers.

As for the other series, last two games just when it looked like the hawks had things sewn up the Kings start up their scoring machine and take both games. Speaking of 'waking up', Chicago better do some of that real quick (get it? Real Quick? ha) or they're going to be teeing off REAL QUICK.

Remember --- neither the Sharks nor the Ducks wanted to face the Kings in round 1. There's a reason for that.

You know, I never much cared for the little puke before. I certainly cheered when the Jets gave him the bitch treatment in their last visit to Winnipeg during the regular season. But throughout the playoffs I've come to have a new respect for the guy as a player. His antics in the Boston series especially, which helped greatly in the Habs winning.

But like I said earlier, he needs to step it up even further and start causing more havoc, especially around the Rangers' crease area, or they're going to go down in flames, possibly in front of their own fans.

And that won't be good for anybody, but especially those who own businesses or like to park their cars on St. Catherine's ave. :D

CarlosTheGaucho 05-26-2014 10:21 AM

Damn, the first NHL finals I've ever watched were NY Rangers vs. Canucks in 1994

Twenty years later it looks like the Rangers may make the finals again, would be an amazing series against LA.

scuba steve 05-26-2014 02:14 PM

If kings make it to the cup finals, I'm down to check out a game

CDSmith 05-27-2014 12:13 PM

Chicago on the brink, Montreal on the brink.

It's ELIMINATION GAME time. Will it be a Rangers - Kings finale?

Ha ha. He'll either have to flip a coin, or his head will explode.

CDSmith 05-28-2014 10:07 AM

So, habs win 7-4 to take game 5. Pretty good game last night, but for a while there it looked like they were going to choke and lose it.

Will they be able to win one more in NY and force a game 7?

And tonight for the first time in these playoffs Chicago faces elimination. This should be a good game.

The Habs game was amazing

I thought they were going to put Lundqvist back in for the 3rd period since it was so close

Tommorrow at Staples will be the hardest game this team as group will have ever played.

Or the most important. Or perhaps both. Either way it's going to be a great game. And hey, a lot more pressure is now on the Kings as well.

CDSmith 05-29-2014 06:57 PM

Don Cherry Predicts:

"LA Kings will win at home in game 6 and eliminate the Blackhawks"

Don has a very high success rate with his preditions, he predicted only a few years after *I* did that the Jets would return to Winnipeg. But in this instance I hope he's wrong.

Far-L 05-29-2014 07:45 PM

Rangers...

Still hard to accept.

Going to have to eat so much fucking crow served up by some of my beer league brethren...

Someone pass the salt in Martin St. Louis' beard...

CDSmith 05-29-2014 08:12 PM

ha ha Far L :D

1-0 final score

and just like that the Habs are OUT.

CDSmith 05-30-2014 06:52 AM

Shit I didn't get to use my "Habs are priceless" joke.

:(

CDSmith 05-30-2014 09:07 PM

That game was awesome.

4-3 Blackhawks, it's going to a game 7. If LA wins it they'll have won three consecutive game 7's. Has anyone ever done that?

Anyway game 6 tonight was one of if not THE best game of the playoffs so far. No matter who would've won I'd said it. Fantastic pace, insane goaltending. Kane played like superman.

Just wow.

The Porn Nerd 05-30-2014 09:22 PM

Go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers!!!

sandman! 05-30-2014 09:29 PM

hawks win again :)

game 7 is theirs :)

Spunky 05-30-2014 09:42 PM

2-1 LA, first overtime,3:10

Kings have always had a weakness where the Hawks are concerned. And Chicago has often and especially in recent years been very indominable during the playoffs. They seem to pick up steam as it goes on, until almost nothing can stop them.

Note I said "almost". LA is going to have to almost play above their station, because simply bringing their A game for game 7 might not cut it now that both teams are on an even keel.

CDSmith 06-01-2014 01:32 PM

Well people, game 7, the final game to close out round 3. Then it's on to the cup final.

This is where the

I'm going with the Blackhawks. I'll say 4-3, possibly 5-3 with an empty netter. No overtime.
