Three game 7's played this week and what a way to close out round 1. Sharks, well, it was painful to watch for me as it brought back memories as I said earlier, but I must say I was a bit disappointed with most of the SJ fans leaving their team early and booing etc. Sharks had a pretty great season as far as I could tell, gave it their all and in the end just couldn't close out the Kings. But they certainly didn't deserve the booing from their own fans. Kudos to the few who did stay and cheer for them at the end though. I thought the Flyers deserved to win the series more than the Rangers did, but there you have it. Rangers vs Pens in round 2 I think. Pens should be able to take it in 6. Boston -Monreal in round 2. I'm going out on a limb and predicting Montral wins it in 7. (after which we'll no doubt see the usual tipping and burning of cars and looting of businesses in downown Montreal. ha) Wild win over the Avs -- nice OT win in game 7. Minnesotenites must be over the moon about it, but it will very likely be a short lived celebration. The Blackhawks should (stress the word *should*) have no trouble putting away the Wild in round 2, but as usual you never know. Should be a good series. It'll either be a blowout or else Minnesota will surprise everyone yet again and come out swinging and make it an interesting series. I say Chicago wins it in 5. Kings vs Ducks, is it? I have no idea how this one's going to go but being a good Winnipegger I have to go with my guy Selanne, so I'll say Anaheim in 7. |
My sharks need to make a change. With as much talent as they have on the ice there is no reason we should keep flat lining during playoffs.
I apologize to any coworkers who come by my cube today and have to deal with my grouchy self. Looks like ill route for the ducks the rest of the way. I would rather see the cup come to California, just not in the hands of the fucking kings. |

That's not to say the Rangers can't step things up and get their shit together for round 2. The way they played the Flyers I don't see them getting past the Pens, but if they play like they've played in past seasons they very much do have a chance. Me saying Pens in 6 was me being kind. I really half suspect it will only go 5 games. Rangers-Flyers was the most subdued series of them all right up until game 6. If they don't make some changes immediately they're going to get owned by the Pens. |

Wow can't believe the sharks blew it. That is tough being 3 up. Oh well our teams are out. Not really rooting for anyone. Just want to see some great hockey :thumbsup |
Boston fans caught tweeting racist remarks about Subban last night. Anyone hear anything about this?
Subban may have scored twice last night but it was Carey Price who was the massive star of game one. Damn, the saves that guy made. He got absolutely peppered with shots at times, from all angles. That's what playoff goaltending should look like. I hope whomever's in net for the Jets next year is taking note. Tonight’s games: N.Y. Rangers at Pittsburgh Minnesota at Chicago |

I also hear the Wild have taken a couple of games from the 'Hawks. Amazing. |
My Pens started strong against the Rangers, but with St. Louis emotional return the momentum clearly has shifted. It should be a crazy game 7.

Round 3 is shaping up nicely.
Anaheim up 3-2 on the Kings. Chicago up 3-2 over the Wild. (amazing that Minnesota took two games, unexpectedly great series) And both series in the east come down to game 7. Awesome playoffs so far. |
Well... :) It'll be so interesting to watch... Anyway, I think Sharks are having nice chance to win the title. They are looking strong all season long... :)

Sharks lost bro. They are playoff Chokers. |
How much further can St. Louis carry the Rangers seeing how at his age he is getting smaller and smaller and he was already pretty short to begin with...
Will Zuccarello be cast as the Tasmanian Devil in the live action feature? Can Crosby come out of his amnesia and remember how to score? These are the questions on my mind as I start my prayers beseeching the Hockey Gods for the Rangers to lose. |

Pens' fate that is. :D St Louis is like a pitbull. Small but tough, and shifty. We have a younger tough shifty version on the Jets in Jacob Trouba, but if we had a guy like Marty we'd be a lot further ahead. Wouldn't mind a guy like Malkin on the Jets either. In fact if they lose some of those superstars on Pittsburgh may very well go up on the chopping block. *salivates* |
Well adios Penguins.
Hell of a game though. |

In other news the Blackhawks and the Wild are going to OT according to the live feed I'm tracking on TSN.ca. Tied 1-1. What a game that must be. |
Kane scored in OT to put the Wild out of their misery I see. They gave Chicago a hell of a good run for their money though.
Must have been a hell of a game 7, wish I'd seen it. No TSN available where I am right now though. |
Ducks take it tonight by scoring first and clinging on for the rest of the game, barely. Gibson remains undefeated.
Ducks - Hawks conference final, I like Anaheim's chances :thumbsup |
hawks going all the way again :)

Habs win over the mighty Bruins? Whaaaa-aa-aaa-aaat??
Montreal - NY I say habs in 7. Yes, I think it's going to go the distance. Meanwhile I hear the Kings are up 1-0 on the Ducks. Yet another game I can't access from my current location. I hope this series goes to a game 7 though. Nothing like game 7 in the playoffs. |
So yet another game 7 to close out round 2.
Will Chicago face Anaheim or the Kings in round 3? Meanwhile I see the news is rife with talk about Lucic (loo-cheech) and his threats made against a couple of the Montreal Canadians, he's apparently going to "kill" them next year. ha ha |

Thankfully the Chicago-LA series is steaming along. Although I'm not crazy about the outcome of last night's game it was still some entertaining hockey. At this point I would have to predict a Rangers-Blackhawks cup final. Unless Montreal gets their merde together. It's hard not to cheer for Marty St Louis though. The story unfolding on him through the playoffs has been crazy, and amazing. |
Christ that was close. OT win for the Habs, but game 4 is a must win as well or they go back to Montreal down 3 games to 1.
Some good scraps brewing though between these two teams. Gallagher needs to do a little more shit-disturbing and we may have an actual series here. :D |
