ha ha Far L :D

1-0 final score

and just like that the Habs are OUT.

CDSmith 05-30-2014 06:52 AM

Shit I didn't get to use my "Habs are priceless" joke.

:(

CDSmith 05-30-2014 09:07 PM

That game was awesome.

4-3 Blackhawks, it's going to a game 7. If LA wins it they'll have won three consecutive game 7's. Has anyone ever done that?

Anyway game 6 tonight was one of if not THE best game of the playoffs so far. No matter who would've won I'd said it. Fantastic pace, insane goaltending. Kane played like superman.

Just wow.

The Porn Nerd 05-30-2014 09:22 PM

Go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers go rangers!!!

sandman! 05-30-2014 09:29 PM

hawks win again :)

game 7 is theirs :)

Spunky 05-30-2014 09:42 PM

Entertaining game. for game 7

Kings have always had a weakness where the Hawks are concerned. And Chicago has often and especially in recent years been very indominable during the playoffs. They seem to pick up steam as it goes on, until almost nothing can stop them.

Note I said "almost". LA is going to have to almost play above their station, because simply bringing their A game for game 7 might not cut it now that both teams are on an even keel.

CDSmith 06-01-2014 01:32 PM

Well people, game 7, the final game to close out round 3. Then it's on to the cup final.

This is where the

I'm going with the Blackhawks. I'll say 4-3, possibly 5-3 with an empty netter. No overtime.

Zuzana Designs 06-01-2014 07:04 PM

Great game so far.

CDSmith 06-01-2014 08:34 PM

The ending to that game,... that must be what premature ejaculation feels like. Unexpectedly, one of those fluke redirections, and it's in. Game over.

Hawks OUT.

LA - NY starts June 4th I believe.

Spunky 06-01-2014 08:38 PM

Great game 7, great series, should be as close in the finals

I don't know, Kings and Blackhawks were putting up a lot of hits per game. In game 6 for example the Kings had more hits than both the Rangers and Monteal combined in their last game.

Rangers are going to have to step it up in that department if they want to compete and make it a good series.

Just Dave

I will now have to be a Rangers fan for a short period.

Jay39 06-03-2014 08:34 AM

You know, aside from my prediction of an LA cup win in 6, I actually think I'm with you on this, and if so, if I'm going to be "a Rangers fan" for a while, it will all be due to one reason... Marty St Louis.

This is what I'm thinking.

But I hope it goes to game 7. Nothing like game 7 in the Stanley Cup series.

CDSmith 06-04-2014 09:52 AM

Here we go, tonight's the night.

Game 1. Stanley Cup series.

Predictions?

Have to agree that St. Louis has been solely responsible for not hating the Rangers this year as much as in years past but going to go with the Kings.

Kings vs Rangers... has a sort of D&D/Tolkein ring to it doesn't it?

Lord of the Rinks. :D

The way the Kings are playing they could take this in fewer than 6.

Game 2 = must win for NY. Got to steal one in LA for sure.

lol! Awesome - the pundits need to run with it...

St Louis is a hobbit I am pretty sure... that little guy gets out of scrapes more than Bilbo and Frodo combined, always is good at hiding in the pocket, seems determined to wear a championship ring, and of course wants to return the one Cup that rules them all back to from whence it came a long, long time ago...

Grapes showed a shot of "that hobbit" on Coache's Corner last night. It was taken after the completion of St Louis' off-season regimen

here you go...

That hobbit is in damn fine shape I must say.

However, 5-4 Kings in double overtime, Rangers go back to NY down 2 games to 0.

Not looking good for the Ranger fans.

Game 3 Tomorrow night.

Far-L 06-08-2014 02:39 PM

One OT, one, TWO OT, two, do I hear THREE, THREE OT, going once, going twice, going three games!

Spunky 06-08-2014 10:10 PM

Kings look too strong, keep coming back.Rangers look like they are running on fumes

And that shouldn't be. Rangers had the far longer rest period before the series started.

No excuse.

No team ever wins the cup by taking their foot off the gas in the 3rd period game after game.

When these games go beyond the first few minutes of double OT my VCR recording time gets maxed out. I can only go "game + 90 minutes", so I have to make sure that I can switch over and rewind live TV to see the end of the game on these rare occasions the game goes that long....or I miss the ending of it. And that's simply not acceptable. :D

Triple overtime for game 3 would 2 in 2 and 1 in 1 would be a first in hockey history I think.

Cherry said Kings were lucky to get the W in that last one and I have to agree. They had the Hockey Gods pushing pucks their way but didn't control most of the game. If King Henrik reclaims his throne and commands the games again like he did with Montreal and if the Kings scoring drops back to their averages then Rangers have a good chance of coming back - especially on home ice and facing a must win scenario.

This year's play-offs have been great, even with the overly ref'd games, imho.

PornDiscounts-V 06-09-2014 10:34 AM

Kings have been surviving on luck every series. Whatever gets the job done though.

Agree, but I just know the odds on "luck" get longer and longer...

As long as Doughty doesn't end up trying to do everything like Subban did and lopside the offense then I can certainly see the Kings defense dancing with Lord Stanley again but Quick has been really uneven and soon I bet they are going to start calling all his shenanigans with the stick in front of the net.

CDSmith 06-10-2014 07:56 AM

That so-called "little bitch" Quick played like Terry Sawchuk last night. Almost looked like he had the net boarded up at times, amazing how he/they preserved the shutout. Well so much for any notions of triple overtime we had eh Far L? :D

I had a feeling that this series was going to be a short one, in the Kings's favore. Didn't want to believe it could be a sweep though. If it is a sweep then we pretty much know that the 'actual' Stanley Cup series was LA-Chicago.

Yeah, they're about to luck their way in to their 2nd cup in three years. Possibly tonight.

Kings fans got your champagne ready?

CDSmith 06-11-2014 08:44 PM

Pretty frantic finish to game 4, but THE RANGERS FINALLY WIN ONE

in regulation no less.

More stars sighted in NY than in LA.
Michael J Fox
McEnroe
David Duchovney
Deniro (worth 5 normal celebs)

CDSmith 06-14-2014 01:10 PM

2-1 in double OT. Was a great game last night, one of the best overtimes I've seen in a while too.

Congrats LA. 2013-14 belongs to the Kings.

Looking forward to seeing the Jets back at it next season.

I seem to recall it was 3-2 unless there is some Canadian conversion I am not aware of.

The USD is worth more than our dollar. That, translated to hockey scores, ='s a one goal deficit.

:D

No you're right, I probably had it con-fussed with one of the WC soccer scores I'd seen that day.

I'm on sports-watching overload right now.

That must have been a blast. Nothing better than your team winning the cup on home ice.

I know from experience, as I was in the arena a few times back in the 70's when the Jets won the WHA's Avco Cup. The only problem was i was too young to properly enjoy it.

I bet there was some celebrating in LA. Possibly some 'californicating' as well?
