prolly what most everyone else thinks- the new yorker's attempts at humor usually fall flat.

Just more propaganda you've bought into.

Replace Obama's face with the face of Phil Griffin, or Roger Ailes, or Jeff Zucker.

And the politician's faces are replaced by those of average Americans.

Then it makes sense

Um... no. A couple days ago I was reading the New Yorker on my iPad in a bar when I saw this image, and I literally spit out some beer I was laughing so hard. I then had a bunch of folks at the bar, the bartender, and several waitresses laughing their asses off at it.

see my previous post re: my familiarity with satire falling flat, combined with my other post with the seinfeld clip and then show that all to the wait staff at your bar.

You can't explain what's funny--I can tell you what I find funny about it, and you'll just say, "That still doesn't make it funny". And you'd be right--if you don't find it funny, you don't find it funny; and no explanation will satisfy you or make it funny for you.

With a subscription it's a bit over a buck an issue.

New Yorker is a liberal magazine

Is this Obama handing out medicine instead of a doctor because no one can afford the ACA?

think about that

The guy in the Seinfeld clip liked the kitty in his cartoon, and I liked Mitch McConnell's face on the New Yorker cover--I kept coming back to it and laughing some more. In real life, McConnell looks permanently outraged at everything, possibly including the fact of his own existence, so to see him rendered as an innocent, yielding child just... made me laugh.

I can see the caricature angle being funny, it is over the top after looking at it a bit longer. I haven't put a name on the face of the one in the very back though.

That's Ted Cruz. And the woman is Michelle Bachmann.
