adapt or die, huh? marcorp when someone using that term, it shows that you condone content theft.

This new political correct revolution has even reached the point where honest people are demonized when they complain about theft and outright criminal acts.

Yup

The solution for a producer is simple :
Make a product that is hard to put up on the Internet.

I once said in this forum that the solution for mainstream Hollywood is to go back to film and shut down DVD production. Producing less films with higher budgets increases market value.

There is no reason the porn industry should not be able to do similar. And if enough producers do that, then they can tell the tube sites to adapt or die.

I guess his "industry role" is monetizing other people's content for them.

That's why I got out of trying to sell pay sites as an affiliate. No one cares. There was a good post on another forum recently relating to it and I've long complained about it. But that post detailed how the same pay sites with their content all over these tubes, hundreds or thousands of full scenes will complain about affiliates having more than six photos up or do not provide any affiliate content. For the most part for affiliates there is no viable business there any longer.

I make some extra money from the pay site links still up and some people do buy but it's few and far between. It's all bonus money that I know can go away at any moment because that part of the industry is no longer sustainable.

Just a question...are people who say "adapt or die" ones who actually produce content? I mean actually hire talent, shoot, edit, put their love into it, etc.

I know Marco does.
In fact I think he even shot for LA Express (I think that was the name of the weekly)
But really that is not my business or for me to expound on.

Because it's legal to steal videos and monetize them so long as you claim it's user uploaded content and take them down once you receive a DMCA complaint. Tubes use custom written scripts that reupload the same content within 2 - 4 weeks, but with a new title and header. This simple business model has made the biggest tubes $10's of millions of dollars.

I was being sarcastic with my "adapt or die" comment. People use the phrase on GFY in a sarcastic manner all the time, but I guess you didn't get that. Let me try again:

<sarcasm>

Adapt or die.

</sarcasm>

There... did that make it clearer for you?

Why can't there be a PRIVATE part of the board where content owners are notified of the latest greatest free site with tons of stolen content?

Just seems free advertising for the hottest pirate site here is a real slap in the face to the rest of us.

Back when the industry cared and people were mostly decent there was an embarrassment factor to having a site you own or support getting called out. People would often see their banners up at the site in question and announce that the account has been terminated and all traffic redirected. Some affiliates would drop sponsors advertising on these sites. But now the pirates own the industry and the standard reply is "adapt or die, loser". These days you're the asshole for saying anything.

So where do all the content owners & producers go now to communicate? I speak to guys on the phone & via email primarily now. I don't even know half their handles on here, or any other board

I'm not a content owner to be honest. Ask someone like "Robbie" on here and he'd probably give you a good honest answer. From observation I think it's mostly as I said, "The pirates own adult." In the eyes of the people at the top of the industry YOU are the asshole for complaining about people stealing your content.

That's why I left as a paysite affiliate. Starting around 2011ish I became the asshole for not liking the idea of users getting all the content I was trying to sell for free because of theft by others. I finally said, "Fuck it!"

I remember those days! I believe things will get better. The less fresh content thieves have to steal, the more they appreciate what remains, after so many of us went broke and/or quit.

Thieves are actually complaining on boards about stealing from each other. The more we educate thieves that becoming an affiliate and earning 50% profit with no DMCA's to deal with, the better off all of us will be in the long run.

The tide is changing with "anonymity" online and big business is quickly becoming a more embolden big brother, and they will change the rules sooner then later. You see that coming too?

A lot of the content is MFC shows (I saw several clips of Nicki Elliott)

What's particularly interesting to see, is the watermarks on the clips, and which sites are claiming it's their own content.

Tube sites are the red-headed stepchild of adult ...

Just seems free advertising for the hottest pirate site here is a real slap in the face to the rest of us.
Several of us have mentioned both here before. We tried to put together a place requiring verification to help keep it to content producers/distributors/rights holders but most would rather sit and bitch here for sig views.

Some affiliates would drop sponsors advertising on these sites. But now the pirates own the industry and the standard reply is "adapt or die, loser". These days you're the asshole for saying anything.
Exactly correct and if you try to organize or do something now you have a personal motive or get your name dragged through the mud.

Im sure there are plenty of stolen vids on there, but its a small % and they sure don't need them. I have no horse in the race, just saying.
Then why have a feature to "upload" videos? Why not just have a free site with their own "purchased" content to sell ads?

Simply because it's a lot cheaper to steal content and just pay for bandwidth than to purchase content and cover bandwidth costs.

The solution has always been there....
Just starve out the Tube sites.

But no one has either the courage to stop production or the imagination to create a new product that is too difficult to put upload.

Starve them out? How is that going to happen when the content producers who have been getting fucked for years are now teaming up with the thieves and making them affiliates.

They are making the thieves affiliates and at the same time fucking over their real affiliates.

Sooner or later you are going to get fucked building someone else's brand for them.

There is no equity built in for affiliates in affiliate programs.
