These could be a great asset for law enforcement in troubled neighborhoods. I'm a supporter of video surveillance if the neighborhood can't police itself. The setback is the amount of time it takes cops to arrive after a camera operator sees something.

Having these drones strategically placed around the neighborhood changes that. The camera operator could launch the drone and shock the criminal until cops arrive.

They could also follow behind suspicious people with these drones as a show of force. You do anything, you're getting shocked. Eventually make them solar powered and have 50 of them flying around rough areas at once ready to shock delinquents.

To be honest, that's a viable solution for troubled "hoods" full of people who wont do anything about the crime around. We cant use armies to clear out ghettos, so we should use monitoring and drones... sad... but the truth

nice to see drones being used in a non lethal way...

drones are a great way to go about fighting crime because they will eventually eliminate the need for swat teams and lethal responses whilst at the same time making guns obsolete for most criminals...

what is the point of having a gun against a drone you can not hurt?...shooting your way out and escaping the cops is always an option when human police force are present...but say 5 drones with erratic flight paths with super sensors and just a stun gun are practically impossible to escape...the gun just buys you more time in jail...

imagine security drones...ones that guard your house...hover and follow your family to school or the shop...non lethal drones with stun guns and maybe rubber bullets...

on the other hand who ever controls the drones controls the humans (music from terminator) and a shit load of cops will lose their jobs and the jails will be full as shit because the cause of crime=poverty will not be solved and automation will further decrease the already decreased work force and jobs will be a thing people in the past had and we will all be in jail guarded by drones

They can only fly for a few minutes, they have to get relatively close to hit anything, and they are too loud to get relatively close without being detected.

My wife could drop that bitch with a baseball bat.........next.
By the time the controller can adjust for someone not wanting to be shot at, you could out maneuver and destroy....a waste of cool tech. IMHO

We are talking about the brilliant law enforcement manning these, correct?

I know right, toss a 15 pound purse at it and any crazy woman in the hood just took it out. By the time the police get there it would be on blocks haha
