Yup...the link itself changed based on the information they are now presenting compared to what was there 15 minutes ago.

Now this on Drudge:

'According to Israel Radio, US President Bush is expected to announce the capture of arch-terrorist Osama Bin Laden'...

I hate this manipulative propaganda. I bet NOTHING has happened.

They (See Mulder and Scully) are fucking with internet links now.

"Rumors swept Washington Bush would announce the capture of Osama bin Laden, whose al Qaeda group is blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, at his news conference but officials from various branches of the U.S. government said this was not true. "False," one official said."

Yeah, I don't see how they could keep something like this quiet.

Well, not if he's captured anyways. Maybe if he's been found dead.

I hope the US DOES catch Osama. Then he can be punished for his crimes.

After that Bush will loose interest in Iraq and all the tropps come home, its all good and life rolls on.

all good out here in the snow of Brooklyn

This morning they announced that Bin Laden would soon be captured, that they had intelligence that he was near the Afghan-Pakistani border. They even mentioned the town.

My reaction was:

Are they completely stupid? Why would you announce you're about to capture him, before you capture him, eliminating the element of surprise and pretty much ensuring that he has time to escape.

Unless...

1) He was already captured

2) They are trying to fool Osama. That in fact they know where he is, and it's not near the Afghan-Pakistani border. That would give him a false sense of security, and pop, they could surprise him.

Even if they did catch Osama (which I doubt) it wont really make a lot of difference to the world.. the 'war on terror' will be with us for a long time.. (or at least as long as Bush is the pres. ) there will always be another certified 'bad guy' to take his place.. there's no shortage of fanatics around and there's no shortage of terrorist groups around, many that have existed long before al qaeda was ever dreamed of and many that will be here long after al qaeda is forgotten..

At least they give us all some reason to watch cnn/fox/bbc etc.

Not sure what you're getting at here.. did I say I believe anything written there? I said that it will be announced there first which it often is, even if its not true.. its merely another source of news from a site that specializes in such matters.. feel free to read it or not, believe it or not.. either way its a more interesting read than cnn!

As for 'trusting anyone else for information' - unless you are the mossad/cia/mi6/etc agent that is on the spot when an event such as this happens you will always be trusting someone else for your info - usually cnn/fox/bbc etc. unless you know of some other more reliable way?!

They could be doing the same thing they did with the white van associated to the sniper in Washington. Telling the public something opposite to what is happening, so they can monitor the real activity and pretty much weed out where he actually is.

I'm sure they have (by now) some pretty good information on his where-abouts. I think it would be better if they can capture him and have him face the jury, a bullet to the head isn't enough for terrorists.

Are you telling me that there aren't a finite amount of terrorists? I thought stamping out terrorism was like bowling. You knock 4 pins dow, then you've got 6 left. Knock 3 more down, now you've got 3. Then finally you knock the rest down, and shazaam, you've eliminated terrorism.

Damn, this really changes things, doesn't it?

I agree , as long as Bush and his cronies are running things, there will always be a pretext to attack another "Bad Guy". Its like wwwe wrestling, they will cook up a semi plausable scenario.

Damn, this really changes things, doesn't it?
Damn right!

I think its all a conspiracy between governments and certain large media organizations.. terrorists and their attacks serve 2 purposes..

1. give politicians like bush, blair, putin, chirac etc something for their voters to focus on, make them appear to be the great international crusaders for whatever cause is the flavour of the day while taking attention away from real issues such as the economy..

2. create millions of avid viewers for cnn/fox etc who just can't tear themselves away in case they miss some major event like 9/11 or Gulf War 2

ABC national news last night had an in depth piece that indicated the U.S. had credible information as to Bin Laden's GENERAL whereabouts..in a province that is right on the border with Iran (Not Afganistan). They also found it interesting that the CIA director just HAPPENED to be in Pakistan right now.

No, they haven't gotten him now, but it APPEARS that they have their first significant leads in a long time. But I do agree it's pretty STUPID to go public and announce this information on the media..if it is indeed true.

I think Bush is glad that the Sept 11 thing happened, that gave him a chance to be like his father and have a reason to fuck with iraq

Fuck it....its a manipulative trick to get more people to tune in to the Bush speech when he announces the conditions of American invasion.

Yip about what I think, think they know what area he's in and what him 2 move then, they think, they will get him. He's smart though, dam smart.
