It's all I use now. It's great for focusing and recomposing shots and saves from switching lens from auto to manual focus.
On action shots with AI-servo it works a treat too but I don't do a lot of that. I've swapped the AF-ON and AE-lock buttons around as well because it's an easier configuration for my thumb placement.

Really?! This is a no-brainer, I've been doing it ever since it became an option in custom settings 8 years ago. That is except for the last three years when I switched to manual lenses...
