I'm trying to set up GUIMiner-scrypt as per the instructions, but it's not very specific.. it says...

Create a new "CG Miner" in GUIminer-scrypt

Input the following information into GUIMiner-scrypt:
Host: 127.0.0.1
Port: 9332
Username: user
Password: pass
Use stratum: No
Extra flags: --auto-fan

Where exactly do I create this? It doesn't tell us in which file or anything.

i use cgminer so its a little different but normally you need to create a .bat file or a .conf file in guiminer.

100% agree altcoins will never be used in shops the same as BTC unless there is a payment gateway that lets you pay with any coin.

A new client not syncing probably means it cannot find any peers to connect to. You're not part of the network until you connect to at least one peer.

Try adding this to apecoin.conf:

addnode=24.186.150.212
addnode=23.253.72.174
addnode=218.87.146.203

If a product doesn't work, I'm not usually interested in fixing it for the company. I might consider trying that if I were using the PC version.

Would be surprised if there was any level of organisation behind this coin. Most of the alt coins are just a search & replace, change some basic parameters, compile, release... basically just a clone with minor changes, all done by a semi-anonymous person on a web board.

I've compiled 30+ shitcoin clients over the past couple of months, so I can usually get them going.

You never know, apecoin could be one of the shitcoins that breaks out. Easy as to generate blocks now, but if it becomes 10 or 100 times harder the value of your existing holdings will go up. Or it could tank completely and just die.
