Paysites and iPhone users.
Wanted to ask Paysites operators how they deal with iPhone / iPad users. In my experience they are extremely stupid. 90% of all support requests are from them.
The main problem is that they are too lazy or stupid to use case sensitive login details when trying to log into members area. How do you solve this problem? Do you disable uppercase/lowercase altogether? I tried placing a big ass text sign, but apparently they don't bother to read either and then email that their L/P is not working. |

They live in a very limited, simple world. Make it simple.

A second option may be to have the login system check for case and then return the error with an example of an cAseSENsiTiVe password format. I know placing a sign before they try logging in would seem like it is the most obvious, but like you said, people simply do not read, they just click first. Thus, if they are promoted with a meaningful error after clicking, they may actually pay attention and thus, lessen your support. Good luck. I recall in the 90's how many times an AOL user would email to tell me all the pics had "big spots" on them. AOL had, by default, a 256 color palette so it rendered photos horribly by default. Having to explain to people how to make their AOL useable was always fun. Good times ![]()

My complaints come from iPad users, too, but they're always asking how to download a video. LOL

Well iPhone and iPads do like to capitlize the first letter of a text entry field. So if you have power of attorney over your login/htaccess scritps you could double entry the details when you create a user. Then you would have all usernames with both an upper and lower first character and not compromise security by still letting people have Ucase mixed usernames. the password field is fine normally.
