Tell me where you find the exact to articles anywhere? You can't. But this one also has an advisor explaining how things are setback.

Turkeys economy lost 12% of its value after they made that decision. Its the turkey politicians that should feel humiliated.

You're right -

But it's just human nature - most children go through a period of disrespecting their parents, and most of their elders, when they are young and have not gained wisdom yet - they think they know everything.

But then they grow up, open their eyes to the real would, learn the difference between knowledge and wisdom, and see the error of their ways, and come around.

If the US withdrew from the rest of the world, withdrew it's aid and supplies, withdrew it's protection and intervention..... it wouldn't be long until all the same critics there are now are saying "That fucking USA cares nothing about the world. They only care about themselves. People around the world are crying out for help and they go unheard."

There is no pleasing some morons no matter what you do. Help them, protect them, and they criticize you for not minding your own business. Withdraw from them and you're an uncaring insensitive monster.

Such is life.

you left out that he was also saying "what is wrong with communism". (why did you do that?)

And if he has to ask that - and thinks that compared to communism, that this isn't a democracy - then it's fairly obvious he doesn't understand what either means.

This is one the ONLY places discussions like this can even take place in the world - try this in China questioning their government.... :1orglaugh

No my Dear... if you look - I said "ONE of the only...."

They are comparing American democracy to communism - I was pointing out that this forum nor this dicussion could even take place in China (communist China).

I am aware there are other free nations who enjoy these same freedoms.

Maybe - someday, even people from Iraq.

It would be truly great to know who really is speaking from the heart here on their posts and who is just playing devils advocate to get a reaction.

I'm seriously and genuinly concerned by some people's extremely negative and hate us to the max attitudes here. I've never seen so much anti-americanism first hand in all my years.

Is this 100% how you all feel about us, or is it 50% and 50% just to get us razzled or you're just totally messing with our heads and you really wish you could be an American too?

Juggernaut 03-04-2003 12:38 PM

What the fuck is this father mentality I'm hearing? like the rest of the world would simply collapse without America?

You're in a state of denial if you think America is self sufficient and is even capable of running it's economy and infrastructure in a way that is prosperous for it's people; without every other country providing to it's economy.

No other country could put itself on a 1:1 ratio with the US, but without the many countries already using their own money to buy imports from America, there would be no America to speak of.

Don't you see that if America isolated itself from it's interests, it would cause a domino effect on every other country eventually falling back onto America?

It's pure ignorance for you to state that America needs to stop paying what it pays to help out the unfortunate countries that need it's help. You don't give out more than you receive, the reason why America has a 9:1 ratio in size compared to any other country is because of the way it handles itself.

I hate that stupid Americans think they can speak for everyone else. The only reason you have such an arrogant approach to whatever it is that you say; is because you make money from mostly American visitors.

America does not survive in that way, it depends on the rest of the world as much as the rest of the world depends on it. It isn't on an equal par as everyone else, but under current conditions, it would take hundreds of years for America to become truly self sufficient country.

You're right of course. In my post (above) I wasn't referring to the US withdrawing from trade with the world, or them reneging on economic agreements, policies etc, at all. I was referring to the aid, disaster aid, peacekeeping duties, crisis intervention and their military presence. If they were to withdraw all that and more, all the same people who are bitching now would then be saying the Americans are selfish and uncaring.

My experience has been the same. I've lived all over the world. But I've also not encountered so many Americans that were so arrogant as to not accept anyone else's oppinion, not to mention mistaking nationalism for patriotism. I support the pending war. I love my country, but pu-lease....comments from people purporting to represent all Americans or all conservatives make me want to puke.

What kind of ignorant ass statement is this?

Bad example for lots of reasons:

"According to his investigation, up to 57,000 persons, the majority of them African American and Democrats, had their voting rights removed."

-Ever been to Broward county? Mostly demoncrats there. Yet no note of the correlation of where the problems in Florida occured and the political majority in the region. Also, no mention of exactly how many were Libertarians, Republicans, and Independents. Coincidence? I think not.

"In his book, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, Palast tells how the State of Florida hired a company named DBT for four million dollars to remove felons from the electoral list to keep them from voting."

- Felons are not allowed to vote. They lose their right to vote when they commit a crime. As it should be.

"Thousands of people came to the electoral office to vote only to find out that they were felons"

- They didn't KNOW they were felons. Are they implying that our jails and prisons hold an annual open house where anyone can come and stay for the night? Yeah, right.

"According to the settlement from the NAACP lawsuit, the State has to revise the list and return the voting rights to the innocent ones. But they are going to wait until after the elections to do so."

- Consider the source. More crap.

"Florida is America?s swing state. It?s the only state were the vote is equally divided. That?s why they have to steal it in 2002 if they want to steal it in 2004. "

- Oh, there is some jounalistic integrity. Nothing like presenting facts and letting people decide for themselves.

"The NAACP is sending hundreds of students across the state to supervise the election and to educate people, telling voters that they have the right to ask for a provisional ballot if their name is in the list of purged criminals. That way they could have their vote counted once the list is revised."

- I live in Florida. This is how the whole thing started. NAACP coming into the state telling people to go and vote, regardless if they are a felon. Great...just f'ing great.

I appreciate your intentions, but find a better source please.

americans are screwed no matter what we do... i would like to think that its just the government that people hate but i suspect it goes deeper than that... having the most powerful nation in the world is going to piss people off... people are jealous of our lifestyles... we cant win when it comes to foreign policy... if we do nothing we are apathetic... if we intervene we are throwing our weight around... the whole america bashing is getting pretty old... im sick of people being told that whatever is liberal is right... the bottom line is that this war isnt about oil... if we get any oil it probably wont cover the cost of war... the un passed the resolutions and hans blix said himself that iraq is violating them by not cooperating enough... no one wants war but the un has already lost all credibility... looks like ted turner picked a great organization to donate a billion dollars to... what a douchebag

You don't get it do you? A fuzzy database search was done to remove the voting right of people that had *SIMILAR* names to felons -- in many cases this just meant if you had a "black sounding" last name you lost your right to vote. This is not fiction.

Why should I find a better source. Don't republicans like the truth. And the truth is that DBT was hired to expunge the names of felons from the voting datbase. Felons do lose their right to vote we have decided this as a society. What we did not decide was that if John Smith committed a felony then no one with the name John Smith will be allowed to vote. This is what happened. You can say what you want but this is an indesputable fact. They did not bother to find the one John Smith that committed the crime they just took them all out. It was very interesting to me how you left that part out of your tirade.

"Now I got the info from DBT that there were 94,000 people in this list. 91,000 were innocent."
91,000 American were told to go fuck themselves by our president and his brother.
