More sin tax? That's a tax on the poor by the way. A pack of smokes cost 55 cents when I was graduating high school.
Looked at a vending machine at a casino last night: $8.50 a pack!

And beer and liquor are already taxed to the moon as well.
All of those are taxes that mostly affect the poor. They can't afford to go to a nightclub so they tend to buy a bottle of liquor or a six pack. But they are getting taxed just to enjoy themselves on the weekend. It's bullshit.

And taxing fast food?
Poor people can't afford to go out and eat steak dinners. So if a guy without much money wants to give his family a treat once a week...he takes 'em to McDonalds. As a kid that was like Christmas when we got to go to McDonalds.
Rich people don't really eat a lot of fast food. But for poor folks it's all they can afford.

What will be left for these people?
Boring lives full of monotony and they can't even have a smoke, a beer, or freakin' 1/4 pounder every once in a while?

You should think about those things before you keep saying we should give corrupt politicians even MORE money to spend on wars that kill people all over the world.

I just don't understand the thinking that goes behind the desire to take people's money from them and give it to a bunch of crooks in Washington D.C.

If you want to tax the rich to feed your desire to redistribute wealth...then tax expensive cars, jewelry, yachts, etc.
Take the "sin" taxes off of liquor, smokes, and stop taxing food. Those are all taxes on the poorest people in society.

you are right but they make more money off of taxing what poor people use because they use it more.

the fact is that overall, as people get older, they get less healthy, consequently taking advantage of the healthcare system more than younger, healthier people. heck, just the difference in healthcare costs between 35-49 & 49-60ish year olds is 50%. that's a lot!
I had Hepatitis B in 1973 from shooting heroin... was turned down by BlueCross even though my liver is completely clean.... I have been checked and rechecked many many times.... and even with Aetna I had to pay at 10% premium.. so we'll see if blue cross will accept me now with Obama care... waiting on the approval

there are many people and many here at GFY as well that don't see an issue with you paying 60% or even 80%... for some reason many people seem to feel that you working and earing is somehow stealing from them

"... tendency of people to adjust their behavior in response to the perceived level of risk, behaving less cautiously where they feel more protected and more cautiously where they feel a higher level of risk"

how it applies to health is debatable, but what PornoMonster said is far from stupid...

I guess that explains all those fat unhealthy people in Europe. Oh wait, thats the southern US where there are more people without health coverage than in any other part of the civilized world.

Dude, if you don't think that having half the people in a population obese is bad...I don't know what to tell you.

So Europeans are "proud" that they "only" have over 50% fat asses? And that's "good" because the U.S. has over 60% of fat asses???

NO! It's not good!
You were insinuating that Europe is all fit and healthy folks. Nope. Bunch of fat ass fucks, just like here in the U.S.

Has nothing to do with whether you're European or American.

It has everything to do with the FACT that most of all of you fuckers are fat and lazy slobs who have never seen the inside of the gym and are soft as a woman.

That's worldwide. (except countries where they are starving to death of course).

That's why the people who are smart, fit, and alert...walk like Gods amongst most of you fat fucks.

My post was in relation to some clown saying the more people that are covered with health insurance means the less healthier they will eat when the fact is with the exception of Mexico the US is the fattest nation on earth and the least insured in the modern world. But I'm pretty sure you already knew that.

Oh yeah...it would be hard for the U.S. to get any fucking fatter for sure.

If you think about it...fat people (those without thyroid conditions...the ones who just eat their way to fat and don't have that medical condition) are sort of like the same people who want to sponge off of us.

Useless parasites of society. And now there are more of "them" than there are of "us". So we are fucked. They will keep voting for politicians who promise them "free" stuff.
And we will keep on having to get soaked by the govt. to TRY (because no matter how much money the govt. takes in, they ALWAYS find a way to spend twice as much) and pay for these useless pieces of garbage.

Serious?
Have you seen Hillbilly walmart people?

Trust me, with the age of "I need a Pill to fix anything"

It WILL happen. Do I mean everyone, Nope?

I see people on Oxygen, Still Smoking, and guess what going to the doctor for Lung Problems wanting to be fixed.

People who get their stomach stapled eating till they are fat again.

YES, some people WILL think this way, sadly but true. Very many, probably not.

A person with High Blood Pressure, can either eat right and work out. (Not all of them but several)
What do they choose to do? Take a blood pressure pill. Problem solved..... NOT

in all fairness, the system is not set-up this way and it's not marketed this way.

people do what they are told mostly, it's human nature. we're told by doctors and the television that if you have high blood pressure you take a pill. and in an emergency that is what you should do, certainly not jump on the treadmill........

i'm not saying it's right, i'm not saying any of this is right exactly. what i'm trying to state is an un-biased opinion of why things are the way they are.

Well...the ObamaCare website still doesn't work. LOL

Almost a BILLION dollars to build a fucking website and it still doesn't work.
Goddamn I wish I had gotten in as one of the subcontractors building that site. What a money grab.

Of course the Obama Administration did a victory lap this weekend claiming that everything was working on Nov. 30th.

What a joke.

So the argument against obamacare is by giving people health insurance it will actually make them less healthy? Really?

I never said to NOT give people ACA, just watch out for some things that might come up.

Looks like CNN had the same Thought Today.
