I plan to do the entire truck flat black, like the bed section is currently.

Also planning to instal airbag suspension ;)

It currently has a nice running 350 engine in it. I might swap in a big block if I have a chance.

I wouldn't even fuck with a big block. They're too loud and too bad on gas and if you use it like it was meant to be, they break shit.
The way you have it there is perfect and you won't feel bad driving it around. I like it. If anything just put some money into the 350.

I'm going by all my friends that have done project cars or trucks and decided to try to outdo each other on horsepower. Their vehicles are so loud you can't even listen to a stereo while driving them and they have gone through more differentials, transmissions and rear ends in a few years then I have on all the vehicles I have ever owned in my entire life. Of course if he's just throwing in a stock crate engine and not doing it up then I guess he won't have that problem, but I assumed someone going to the trouble of swapping out a 350 for a big block would be looking at a built engine. Once you get a certain amount of power its easier to break shit. That's a fact. And i guess gas mileage doesn't matter either if it is a garage queen, but if you actually want to drive it then the difference between 8 mpg and 18 mpg adds up pretty quick.

The problem with upping the engine is that it is way more expensive and a pain in the ass later on.

What benefit will you get out of it? Will you regularly race it? Will you pull a boat with it? What do you need the big block for?

When you go to sell it the added value will be minimal compared with expense and time required to install it.

Loud is to do with the exhaust, you can make a 1.2L 3 cylinder loud by running it straight off the headers

If you build a stout motor, of course you need to upgrade the drive line.

A big block is not necessarily a less efficient motor. They are bigger and are a far lazier motor ie lower rpm so.....
