I'm not going to read any of this junk but I'd like to say, overall, it'd be nice if more people in America helped other Americans, for fuck sakes. If everyone lived the way that I have- since I was twelve years the fuck old- NO ONE would need ANYTHING here in America. We can pour billions and billions into everywhere but HERE, it seems. Well people are hungry, here. People are abused, here. People are in danger, here. RIGHT THE FUCK HERE. What is the FIRST country rushing aid to anywhere or everywhere anything ever happens? The USA. How many countries come to help us when we have a disaster or something?

I can see helping Canada since they help us. I can see working with countries like the Netherlands because they seem to want to do business with us (from what I have seen from the adult program owners there)

Anyway the whole point is- wealthy white people in America are going to do what the fuck they want and trying to whine about what they are or are not doing isn't going to get you anywhere. It's stacked up pretty heavy at the top in terms of wealth distribution. Short of an outright revolution- it's NOT going to change- and this is not about repubs vs. dems, no, it is about haves vs. have nots.

Not only that but the havenots are too god damned stupid these days- if they HAD a chance or HAD any rights left or HAD any real money power, they would destroy themselves anyway. They're almost better off being owned at this point. So just let it the fuck go. Besides- as stacked as it is, you can STILL make it in this country if you WANT it BADLY ENOUGH. I don't have numbers in front of me, but I'd wager that overall,,Americans donate to Americans in need by a large margin over what get sent to disasters around the world.

I know we do. We have a budget in our company for local charity. It's a long list. Some of the things we support are only for a few hundred dollars. Others are more. It's always easy to rip on business. But when the food pantry is broke. Who steps up and funds it? A child went missing in Milwaukee. A local bank put up the money for a reward. In my community the city purchased some vacant land on the lake. They decided it would be a nice green space. Who came up with the money to build a playground for the kids. My company and a local hospital partnered and did the whole project.

I don't know a single business owner in my group that doesn't support many things. When there is a disaster around the world, we just dig a little deeper. Just like most Americans do.

Some banks and business have done bad things ,but more of them do a lot of good things for the community.

The US has dropped more bombs than hitler since WW2, has held 100-s of millions of people under decades upon decades of debilitating economic sanctions, impoverishing entire regions and races for the actions of a few people.

The "aid" you do give is actually bribe..."US Aid" in my country for example built a road to a local politicians moms hose in the mountains :1orglaugh

We tend to steer clear of government contracts. We like to actually get paid for the products we manufacture.

Without giving to much away, recently a division of the federal government approached us to purchase a product we make. Non-military hardware so we bit. Had all the testing done went through the mountain of paperwork to be a tier one supplier. Then waited.

After a month our sales manager called the man that he was dealing with. The man was terribly embarrassed. It seems that congress mandated to this department that the product we hope to sell them was not funded. So the law says they have to do this but they don't have any money to pay for it. Right now, just the cost of the testing data we were required to submit was well into 5 figures. I haven't asked, because I really don't want to know. But it would not shock me if with travel ,engineering, packaging, administration costs that we could be into this for 6 figures.

Yea, my mother had a temp agency in the late 90s and on.. She was classified as a minority business due to it being woman owned.. We used to do a shitload of govt contracts and you were lucky if you got paid in 90 to 120 days.. Meanwhile we would have to pay all their salaries. We weren't talking just labor type jobs as we had everything from engineers to pharmacist.

I know enough about the history of Yugoslavia to say that what happened came as no surprise. That country has had nothing but political problems for 75 years. My Grandfather hated it. When he came to America, he learned English and that's all he spoke. I never once heard him speak in his native tongue.

Our family was and to a certain extent still is involved in industry, banking and politics there. If I posted my last name you would recognize it.

Local businesses have ties to a community and do a lot of good. Massive international conglomerates that push paper rather than producing a product are largely absentee. Chase Bank will pay more in fines for scamming the public this year than they will donate to any worthy cause. Minte owns a company that appears to be a throwback to an earlier era, like what Hershey did for part of Pennsylvania back in the day. Acting like he is the problem is silly. Acting like his company is typical of what post-national conglomerates do for the world is also silly. Walmart, Chase, AIG, Goldman Sachs and that group have zero interest in assisting anyone in need, and zero in common with the philosophy Minte apparently follows.

We ought to have regulations ready to curb the abuse of post-nationals AND congratulations ready for businesses that actually do step up to improve their community locally or provide for needy members of society abroad.
