That system of going to an emergency room wasn't good. But there is nothing in this law that will stop the 6 million plus illegal aliens from continuing to do just that. What the republicans offered was attacking the root causes of the cost of modern healthcare. Tort reform. Allowing insurance companies to compete over state lines. A more gradual ramp up. They did not support what amounts to another Tax on the citizens. I agree..healthcare reform is due. What I don't understand is how so many of you can support this turd they call obamacare. I posted a few links earlier in this thread. The democrats are now distancing themselves from Obama and this law. The population overwhelmingly is against it. Bill Clinton even went on record about the promises Obama made about people not losing their existing insurance and how that was wrong. Obama can't see any of this. He's just like every professor I had in college. He talks and talks..and never listens. He has no experience beyond working for the government in various jobs and it shows. All book taught. No experience. and take notice..there is no LOL..there is nothing funny about any of this. |

A few things, first who said I support it? There is nothing else and the status quo isnt working. Obamacare is why I sat out the election for president last time. Im fucking tired of voting for gop lite. The need for tort reform is nonsense, maybe the reform we need is malpractice insurance. Whose costs fuck docs up the ass without mercy. http://www.justice.org/cps/rde/justice/hs.xsl/8686.htm It's such a small part of healthcare costs and we should block people like this from suing when their lives were ruined? http://www.njnewsday.com/national/14...y-doctors.html Say if that was someone you loved, would you feel the same? I've had an individual plan for over 12 yrs. They change them all the time and raise the rates(long before we knew who obama was) so then you go into another plan. In my 12 yrs I've changed my plan 5 times. So this isnt new but to let people keep shitty plans that cover nothing so then when they get sick the insurance company says fuck you to them. Then the tax payer winds up paying for it is not smart actually borders on criminal. Are you so blinded by hate that you cant see that? It should of been the public option, you can buy into medicare and it would compete with insurance. Below a certain income you just got it. But the problem is besides being black this president isnt a liberal that's why he embraced and pushed thru the dole plan created by the heritage foundation. This isnt socialism its capitalism at its finest. They are dumping people at will, does he say no one will be dumped, the insurance companies have to make the plan you have up to standards at the same cost? No he says ok you can keep your shitty insurance, I made a mistake. Competing over state lines doesnt work. Im going to buy mayo clinic insurance when I have to go to MN for treatment? Also talk about a nightmare that means all those insurance plans have to comply with the state you are in otherwise they would all be based out of the state that made it the easiest to fuck policy holders. In matter how much fox tells you some president is one ,there will never be a liberal president in my life time when it costs a billion dollars to run. |

If Obamacare turns out to be a winner, the Republicans look bad because they fought it for so long. If Obamacare falls flat on it's face, the Republicans look bad because they tried to kill over one hundred times - including taking it all the way to the Supreme Court - and lost. The best thing the Republican party can do now is to figure out what's wrong with Obamacare and come up with solutions to fix it. They need to do their jobs, not cry like little schoolgirls. When they get to Congress they work for me, the public, not their fucking parties. |

Fucking dim wits. Plain and simple, even the democrats are turning on Obamacare. The more that's read and understood, the more shitty it is and a payday for the insurance companies. Even Diane Feinstein wants changes, she's about as liberal as they come. |

This video says it all. In three minutes this video has a number of things are completely wrong, but is being accepted as fact. The man says his health insurance is going to cost him twice what the most expensive package costs in his state, which is impossible. The video was incorrect and misleading, yet you believe in it like a religion. |

I've told the story about my friend over and over again on healthcare. In fact I saw him last night. Two of his family members - wife and son - have long term uncurable health issues which require regular, monthly doctor visits. Because of the rule about pre-exisiting conditions they will be able to change healthcare for the first time in over a decade. Because of this, their healthcare expenses will be cut by 75%. Why doesn't Fox news interview people like him? |

One key under-reported piece of this..
The developers didn't get the spec until 5-6 months before the 'go live' date. I've been a developer for 15 years, and I can tell you that is nowhere near enough time to develop a site of this scope. Now why did they have such a short timeline? Bureaucratic nonsense of course. Believe me, that always happens...AND with all the crap the GOP was pulling, nobody knew what the final rules were going to be! |

And he's just going to keep on blindly regurgitating their fictions. |
Obama couldn't roll out the single payer idea, as it was way too much of a radical lift. He knew it would be D.O.A. If he proposed single payer he would have been accused of being some sort of Anti-American left-wing Socialist.
So instead, he pre-compromised, and rolled out the GOP right-wing Heritage Foundation supported, Republican plan instead. This move was met with immediate anger, and Obama was labeled an anti-American left-wing Socialist. Here's a little video that clearly captures the logic of the situation... https://youtube.com/watch?v=zcNoQuprS7s |

Hell if it were me and I had life insurance I'd do like my second cousin did after being diagnosed and "mysteriously fall" off a cliff and leave my family rich and happy rather than broke and in debt trying to hang on a few extra months or years. |

The way the GOP has been handling this is horrible - it's childish. They've fought so hard to defeat it and failed at every level. Instead of investing all of their time and effort into defeating a bill that has already become a law, perhaps they should have ignored it and if it is that bad it would have failed anyhow. |
Neither party gives a shit about the average hard working tax payer.
