Can I file a claim with Progressive auto if they're cancelling me today?

I caught some hail a couple of months ago.. I wasn't going to file a claim, but, since they were less than helpful and would not work with me and everything, what the hell. I don't know if it'll affect my rates in the future... who knows.. But they cancel me 10/31 and I filed the claim 10/31. I should be paid for the claim even if I file it after the coverage cancels, right? I was insured when the loss occured..

I know a lot of you understand law real well so any information would be good

it seems reasonable but it all depend on exactly when the cancelled you - before or after u file the claim? if before then you don't have much of a case. if after, then you do.

I was into them $300 past due, paid $201 first week of this month, and they couldn't give me until the fifth to come up with the other $109 they wanted. That's stupid if you ask me.

But the cancellation is only because of that.

AND they wanted to raise my premium 40% after this policy period for no apparent reason, at all.

Not because of your dui? 40% increase sounds about average for a charge like that.

Yeah, no reason at all. Sounds legit.

I'm guessing this is not the first time you were past due.
If thats the case then all I can say is good luck, they will probably deny your claim. And why would you wait 'til the last day to file the claim, did you not know of the hail damage a week ago?

The DUI happened WELL over a year ago.. 1.5 years almost now, and, I added the violation with the correct date when I started the policy.

It's six payments and I was current until this all happened. My bank bounced a couple I didn't know about at first so I had to catch up a little.

First of all, you didn't owed the $201, you owed them $199 according to what you wrote

Second of all, you should no better. Insurance payments are an all of nothing type of situation. If you couldn't pay them t6he full amount due, then you probably shouldn't have paid them anything at all and saved it for your next insurance company.

Cover should be based on the date of the incident, not whether you're currently financial. ie, if you were paid up 2 months ago when it hailed then you should be covered. Call them and ask.

I didn't owed and I should no better, eh?

I think you are TRYING to say that I did not owe them the $201 I paid but that I owed them the full $300 the bloodsuckers wanted.. Maybe?

I actually wrote:
