Can't you like a product without always going full blown fanboy and sounding like a 5 yo? I like it too but for fuck sake Tesla S is the bestest bestest ever ever... grow the fuck up. |

Meh. That looks like the Ferrari FF a bit, which I'm not too much of a fan.
As much as I love the new vette I do have to agree with Mark, for a daily driver I would take the tesla over the vette any day. That's why they more more than one, different strokes for different folks! |

a personal choice of one car over another makes sense, regardless of the reasoning. saying a tesla s outperforms a c7 is silly. |
great ride :)

Ouch! That is a nice car. Even in 'Batty Boy' Blue

Im still partial to the look of the ones in the mid to late 60's

Just saw this thread... I actually have TWO Vette's on order at the moment. I'll explain...
I put a deposit on a convertible a few months ago, before I saw any photos of one. I called my buddy at the Chevy dealership to find out the progress and he said the convertibles wouldn't be available until mid first quarter 2014. So, wifey and I headed up to the dealership and drove the new coupe. We also looked at some pics of the convertible, and to be honest, I like the coupe better after seeing them both. So, we ordered the coupe as well. Once the dealership gets the convertible, they'll have no problem selling it. (We're only buying one.) We decided on the yellow Z51 with black interior. Carbon fiber top is on constraint, so we opted for the dual top (one glass, one body color). We're also getting the dual mode exhaust, black wheels with yellow calipers, and black mirrors and rear spoiler. I thought I wanted white, but after seeing a similar yellow one on the showroom, I decided to go yellow instead. (The yellow one on the showroom had an ugly interior, brownstone suede.) Only problem is, Z51's are also on constraint at the moment, so I don't know when the order will go through. We also like the red and white ones, so if they get an unclaimed one with the options we like in any of those colors before ours gets there, we might get that one instead. A few pics... I always find dark color cars (when clean) look nicer than lighter ones. Either way congrats on the new ride :thumbsup |

I am glad we switched from the convertible to the coupe, though. |
Update on our car... was starting to think this was going to be a nightmare.
Well, we originally ordered a convertible. We were told that they probably wouldn't be available until late January / February at the earliest. Meanwhile, we saw pics of the convertible (we ordered it before we saw it), and we decided to order a coupe instead. I didn't like the lines of the convertible. Several items were on constraint for the coupe we ordered so we knew it would be a wait. We were told "6 weeks to 6 months". About a month after we placed the order, I made a slight change to the car to speed up the wait. I originally wanted a carbon top, but changed it to a dual top (2 roofs, one glass and one body color). Well, the glass roof also went on constraint, so I changed it to a body color only. I was told that should bump us way up. A few weeks later, the original convertible we ordered actually showed up (pics below). We went up to the dealership to look at it in person, but we were told that our coupe order was accepted, so we opted to not take the convertible. That is what we were planning to do anyway. We did take it for a nice test drive, though. :winkwink: Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, and I stopped by the dealership to check on the car. The factory closes down each year for 2 weeks during the holidays, so I knew it would be delayed, but I wanted to check and see if they had a TPW (targeted production week) yet. They gave me the order sheet, and it said the car was "queued for production". BIG problem, though. We ordered an automatic... the car ordered was a manual. You gotta be fucking kidding me... The dealership contacted the factory, and they informed me that the order could not be adjusted. So... I was told they would put in a new order for the correct car, and I would be the next car submitted. It would/should only delay the production a few weeks, they said. Then, the next day, I got a call from the dealership saying that they had a customer back out of a deal for a car he ordered back in August. It is almost like the one I ordered, except a few things. It had already been built, and was waiting on the truck ride to Florida. Differences: This car is identical to the one we want, with three differences. 1. It has a carbon roof, which is what we originally wanted anyway. I'm good with that. 2. It has a carbon hood stripe. Not sure how I feel about that. 3. It does not have yellow brake calipers. I'm NOT happy with that. Well... the car showed up today. Here are some pics of the convertible we originally ordered. We stopped by and drove it, but opted not to buy it, even though it was quite nice. http://www.extremebank.com/images/gfy/corvettevert1.jpg A couple pics with the top down. It looks MUCH better like this, but I'm not a fan of it with the top up. (BTW, that's my Ford Raptor in the background.) http://www.extremebank.com/images/gfy/corvettevert3.jpg http://www.extremebank.com/images/gfy/corvettevert4.jpg And, here are pics of the car when it showed up today... We ended up ordering a set of yellow calipers that will be put on when they arrive. So, guess I have an extra set of black calipers, just in case. :D Got a call right when the truck got there, called my wife Alysha (shameless plug) to meet me at the dealership, and headed up there. A few pics coming off the truck and after the cover was removed: http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery002.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery003.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery004.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery007.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery008.JPG Traded the Infiniti QX56 in (that's our Ford Raptor next to it... not trading that, though :D ): http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery011.JPG Delivery pics: http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery010.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery015.JPG http://www.adamandalysha.com/images/...elivery016.JPG Home now... will let you know what I think after a few days of driving. Have the yellow calipers on the way, plus I'll be ordering a bunch of crap for it, too. Carbon side skirts and front air dam, smoked tail lights and side markers, a few under hood items, and of course tinting the windows. Glad the wait is over, though... |
excellent choice to pass on the white
