I also like the fact that there are three levels 'gold, silver, bronze' but they dont' tell you what each offers, that's fucking stupid.
And as Tony286 pointed out being able to surf the options without actually signing up would be nice.

I have health care through one of my employers. It has an insanely high deductible and my employer bitches non stop about how much he has to pay and always reminds me that I'm on a better plan than the other employees. They have offered to pay me more and let me get my own insurance but up to now I have not been able to because of preexisting stuff. My last time in the hospital cost me a 15k hospital deductible plus a bunch of other deductibles.

My partner can get insurance through one of her employers but it is such crap insurance that instead she got her own privately. It's costing her $350 a month and also has deductibles so high that a hospital stay will devastate her.

Both of us are now hoping to get much better insurance through Obamacare. Still too early to see how this will all pan out but just about anything has to be better than what came before it. All I know is at least I will be able to get my own insurance now since preexisting is no longer an issue.

For the short term, yes.
However, we still compete on a global level. And the playing field is NOT tilted our way.
I hate to say it, but the writing is on the wall. Automation is the only way a lot of US manfacturing firms will survive. What we did is start a new division this year.
Injection molding. It's nearly a lights off operation. THe downside is that the margins are thin. We believe that we can pull enough revenue out of that division to allow us to continue to expand the rest of the business that is more labor intensive.

As far as single-payer. I agreed 5 years ago that was the better solution to what we have today. It will end up that way ultimately and there will be different levels of healthcare.

McMedicine for those that can't afford better and higher quality for those that can.

What's more, any Joe Schmoe could put up a site claiming to be a representative, How do you know these places you are giving your information to are even legitimate government sites?
That being said, funny i would rather give my vital info to a hacker than the government

This is a great show; waiting, watching and laughing at the soon to be onslaught of stolen identities

[A]dministration officials continued Tuesday to decline to say how many people have gone through all the steps to pick a health plan through the Web site. They said they would give a monthly tally, probably starting in mid-November.

Last week, HHS and White House officials gave updates on the number of people who had logged onto the site, noting that 8.6 million unique visitors had logged on in the first three days and up to 250,000 were on at one time. On Tuesday, an HHS official said that ?an extraordinary number of people are coming to check out? the Web site, without offering specifics. ...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/nation...s_picks =true
This might be one reason -- 250,000 users at one time is staggering -- maybe it was a tea party ddos j/k (I hope).

think about that

Nearly half a billion dollars spent on Healthcare.gov

According to the IT dashboard which tracks government projects, Healthcare.gov has so far cost a combined total of over $500 million.

"HHS seemed confident the project would be launched on time. That's not surprising, since people who push socialist government programs tend to be delusional thinkers, not realists. The massive failure of Healthcare.gov is yet more proof that the Obama administration is utterly incompetent when it comes to deploying a complex IT infrastructure.

Planners for this system had three years to create it, and even then they can't figure out how to make it work. Far beyond mere "glitches" as Obama claimed, Healthcare.gov seems to be overrun with critical design failures, programming flaws and security problems"

WAS promising? You mean that thing that hasn't been implemented yet? How can anyone in a correct mind gauge the effectiveness of something that hasn't been implemented?

Oh I know..nevermind.

I've never voted for Obama. Personally, with one exception, i havent voted dem or rep in 20 years.

I think Obama's just another corporate shill, same as 98% of congress/senate. Look at who his biggest donors in 2008 were: the Too Big to Fail Banks. Look it up, I dare ya.

Is it any surprise the individuals who ran the Too Big to Fail Banks faced no prosecution for their massive fraud? Of course not!!! Fuck ideology, follow the money. Things will make a hell of a lot more sense.

If one is capable of looking at the ACA objectively, you'll see it's a big wet kiss to the health ins co's & big pharma.

I would be pretty surprised if you could find anyone that would argue with that.

Of course the trick is finding people who are willing/able to be objective..
