Scallops, recipe recommendations?

I have some scallops, I have never made them before. Recommendations?

I would like to stay away from the usual seafood safe recipe of butter and lemon.

Although I cannot provide a recipe recommendation, I will strongly suggest that you cook them outdoors. The last time I fried them in a skillet, my entire house smelled for at least a day.

Sear them in butter - 30 seconds on each side at most - Flame off with a little Pastis (eg. Pernod) and then add a little more butter...

Place on some sauteed leeks, poor over the sauce and thank me later.....

I would google some recipes on doing bacon wrapped scallops.. mmm.. I just put my pan to medium with a tiny bit of butter (the bacon will melt in and add more oil!) and loosely wrap the scallop in back and sear each side until it feels medium/well done (by steak standards) then you are good. Only a couple minutes each side in reality. I also flip then on the side to sear the bacon as well all around so cooking time is lower :D

if they are real (not imitation) and they are fresh and big ones (not bay) sprinkle some lemon juice and or soy and eat em raw

This is a recipe I got from 12clicks. Pretty good really. (the scallops)

1 1/2 pounds sea scollops …

"Take a 1/4 stick of butter and melt it in a frying pan, sprinkle a few pinches of crushed red pepper. Add scallops, add a big splash of white wine and let the scallops cook.

Turn each scallop over so they cook evenly. Right before they're done, sprinkle more crushed red pepper directly over the scallops, then gently lay thin slices of Swiss cheese over the scallops, turn off heat and cover with a lid for 1 minute.

Serve."
