i have alot of people that login from aol based adresses like
dns-02.ns.aol.com
are these always dialup guys?

I would guess that some could be AOL Broadband customers... unless dns-02.ns.aol.com is always reserved for dialup.

No. Aol still gives you a proxy address even if you sign on through broadband.

AOL offers their own broadband service but you can also log onto aol with any broadband. I use it because I like their mail features and despise Outlook. There are tons of people on AOL that use broadband now.

When you use broadband and use a TCP/IP connection to AOL they give you another IP and you get another adapter. Not only that but when you use their browser you use one of their proxies.

that makes sense..i see lots of logins from members during a 24 hour period from the aol dns..the same person will login 5-10 times during a day but from a different subnet each time..and download what appears to be a broadband amount of content
