aol

i have alot of people that login from aol based adresses like
dns-02.ns.aol.com
are these always dialup guys?

Fire 03-01-2003 08:56 PM

I would guess that some could be AOL Broadband customers... unless dns-02.ns.aol.com is always reserved for dialup.

stocktrader23 03-01-2003 08:56 PM

No. Aol still gives you a proxy address even if you sign on through broadband.

angelsofporn 03-01-2003 09:26 PM

so aol offers a broadband service? thought it was just a dialup deal

AOL offers their own broadband service but you can also log onto aol with any broadband. I use it because I like their mail features and despise Outlook. There are tons of people on AOL that use broadband now.

multisexsite 03-01-2003 09:32 PM

yes they offer broadband.

try www.aol.com and look for the adverts saying "Broadband" it may help if you could read though.

actually that was a shitty coment when you have full rights to be annoyed with me.

They offer broadband through your local provider.

cluck 03-01-2003 09:37 PM

When you use broadband and use a TCP/IP connection to AOL they give you another IP and you get another adapter. Not only that but when you use their browser you use one of their proxies.

angelsofporn 03-01-2003 09:48 PM

that makes sense..i see lots of logins from members during a 24 hour period from the aol dns..the same person will login 5-10 times during a day but from a different subnet each time..and download what appears to be a broadband amount of content

Sigh, Outlook owns AOL -- end of the story (or reply:glugglug).
