aol
i have alot of people that login from aol based adresses like
dns-02.ns.aol.com are these always dialup guys? |
I would guess that some could be AOL Broadband customers... unless dns-02.ns.aol.com is always reserved for dialup.
No. Aol still gives you a proxy address even if you sign on through broadband.
so aol offers a broadband service? thought it was just a dialup deal

They offer broadband through your local provider.
When you use broadband and use a TCP/IP connection to AOL they give you another IP and you get another adapter. Not only that but when you use their browser you use one of their proxies.
that makes sense..i see lots of logins from members during a 24 hour period from the aol dns..the same person will login 5-10 times during a day but from a different subnet each time..and download what appears to be a broadband amount of content
