Lets talk about LIVE Cam chip value $

As far as I know all cam sites use an alias or nickname for their currency (chips, tokens, gold etc.) and most of them require purchase in advance of this currency. So when the purchases are made you might see different prices points for instance:

125 chips = $20
225 + 50 bonus chips = $40
325 + 70 bonus chips = $50

...whatever... so the actual per chip value might be around .12 cents but the user may have paid up to .16 cents per chip...anyway I can't seem to wrap my head around the .04 cents difference. Does that just go to the site? Model? User?

What cam site has the best strategy for this in your opinion?

Using chips, tokens, credits etc, is just a way to make the customer feel like he has more money than he actually has, in hopes that he will spend money more quickly.

Creating crazy values like what you described above though is intended to make it harder for the customers to count, adding another layer preventing them from realizing how much they are spending.

We added a token system to LiveCamNetwork years ago. Our software lets you (the website owner) name your tokens anything you like (Tokens, credits, srockhardbucks, etc), and apply any value you like to them ($1.00 buys 1000 tokens for example).

In the end though I regret this feature. I think customers prefer to know exactly how much things cost in dollars and cents instead of cloudy, murky "tokens".

Since a micropayment solution isn't available, an advantage of using chips, tokens, etc is it minimizes the number of credit card transactions. Processing 1 $50 payment is considerably more cost effective than processing 10 $5 payments. Furthermore, credit card companies will flag customer accounts for potential fraud if they see many repeat transactions on the same day.

I believe that volume discounts on tokens benefit the model as they are paid a set price per token, regardless of how much the customer paid for them. So even if the surfer gets a discount the model still gets paid full price.
