Videotards: Whats a great video editor just for making YouTube videos, and easy for dummies like me?

for the PC, not a mac.
I got Adobe Premiere Elements and I fucking *hate* it, its so not user friendly and drudgery.
I usually used Windows Movie Maker but it doesnt have many options.
When I watch YouTube so many people have such interesting videos and effects, I want to be able to do stuff like that.

I'd like to get something under $150. Any suggestions?

If you have a Mac, iMovie is easy to use and inexpensive (under $50 new):

Years ago I used Microsoft PhotoStory 3 for all my vids.

The name was a misgnomer...it was actually a very good video editor with a LOT of options. And fast.

Not sure if it's still around. I ran it on WinXP back then.

Try some of the Vegas products http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegassoftware

Try before you buy. I've used Movie Studio HD and it's not bad.

There's a good idea, call the people you're asking for advice "tards"

And yes, there are several good free or cheap video editing systems out there, I've tried most of them over my career.

good luck

Then why would you want to use iMovie?

If you are an Adobe Creative Suite or Cloud user, you have Premiere at your disposal already.

I use Vegas 11 and like it, but it's around $500. They do have some cheaper products though, may want to check those out.

If you already have Premiere Elements, have you tried the Adobe Classroom in a Book for Premiere Elements? I found the Classroom in a Book series very helpful for learning Adobe software.

As with any new software, there is a learning curve, but as you hit each learning plateau you should start picking things up easier and faster. Perseverance is the key.

If Adobe had not stopped supporting Premiere for Mac years ago, I would never have made the switch to Apple Final Cut (really glad I did though, since Final Cut takes maximum advantage of Apple's hardware capabilities).
