but if you are so for freedom, then why are you against the war? Iraqi people have zero freedom. In fact, if they say one bad word about saddam they are never heard from again.

I am not against the war. I am against the damned patriot acts, and other unamerican fascist responses to fear.

I said it in September, 2001, and I will say it again. No law passed in time of crisis or war should be allowed to last longer than 5 years unless it is voted on again.

When you attempt to remove the rights on only a few, you undermine the rights of everyone. Your logic got a lot of people killed in Europe in the 40s.

The new Patriot Act says if you have ever given any moeny to any organization that is considered an enemy of the US you automatically forfeit your US citizenship.

Meaning if you have ever given money directly or indirectly to any organization that affiliates with any middle eastern relief organization you are no longer a US citizen, if some career Justice Department bureaucrat decides so.

Oh, you've never helped out orphans in the middle east? Good for you, you're still a citizen.

But wait, did you give money to the World Wildlife Fund? Greenpeace? Natural Resources Defense Fund? Well the jury is still out, during the last Patriot Act several senators tried to include these organization in the list of terrorist groups the US has declared war on.

Yes this really is happening.

Oh yeah, am I the only person who noticed that the first USA Patriot Act, a set of various laws comprising some 500 pages was submitted to Congress by Ashhahahahaha's Justice Department less than three weeks after September 11th?

500 pages of law in less than three weeks? Ah riiiiiight this from the same government that takes 3 months to issue a simple passport.

Is this really happening? It is, isn't it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but politics aside, when Bush was elected, you had a choice between one idiot, or another idiot (Gore/Bush)

By the reported popularity of Bush, isn't this kind of McCarthyism going to ensure that people don't vote for the guy next time around?

Depending on what kind of dope the democrats let run, I suppose.

Gore isn't an idiot. He's not great, but look at the choices we have in the political field. At least he understood somethign about international policy... policy in general, come to think of it.

I think Bush is digging his own grave. However, I also know that people are pretty stupid. They may fall for it.

Be afraid, be very afraid. I lived through the Nixon years of wire taps, undercover agents etc. During that time it was all illegal but they did it anyhow imagine what they will do if it is legal!

Flag high, ranks closed,
The S.A. marches with silent solid steps.
Comrades shot by the red front and reaction
march in spirit with us in our ranks.

The street free for the brown battalions,
The street free for the Storm Troopers.
Millions, full of hope, look up at the swastika;
The day breaks for freedom and for bread.

For the last time the call will now be blown;
For the struggle now we all stand ready.
Soon will fly Bush-flags over every street;
Slavery will last only a short time longer.

Flag high, ranks closed,
The S.A. marches with silent solid steps.
Comrades shot by the red front and reaction
march in spirit with us in our ranks.

all the locals hide their tears of regret
open fire cos I love you to death
sky high, with a heartache of stone
you'll never see me cos i'm always alone

how to love without a trace of dissent
i'll buy the torture cos you pay for the rent
tied high with a broken command
you're all alone to the promised land

i'm in love with this malicious intent
you've been taken but you don't know it yet
what you will know must never live to be found
cos it's the subject of the eyes of the drowned

clueless, run out and find the law you know so well. Then read it instead of pretending to *know* it.
If you are a suspected terrorist, the people suspecting you go before a judge, if the judge agrees with the suspectors, then, and only then do they get to use the tools of the patriot act.

Now, are you a terrorist or are you just stupid?

You are very sadly ignorant about how government works. I lived the days of government trying to end the anti Vietnam war movement; laws were not relevant.

I also spent enough time working in a prosecutors office to know that individual rights are too often forgotten for the "public good". Government will do what it needs to survive, if you get in it's way you are a terrorist even if you are within your stated rights.

Policy, He Must Be Immediately Terminated
No Trial, No Explanation, No Warning - Just Immediate Obliteration

According to white house officials the president?s policy is that ?association? alone, with ANY suspected al queda or terrorist, is sufficient enough justification for immediate extermination by the cia or us military.

Yet there is NO other family in America today who has had closer ties with the Bin Ladens than the Bush family.

These words were published dec 5 on a website called voxfux. Go here for the complete article. On dec 18 the guys home was raided by 40 agents from a joint group of cia, fbi, and the federal major crimes unit in nyc. He wasnt there and is currently on the lam, but they comfiscated his computer equipment and his site has been shut down. If you dont believe it look up voxfux on google.
All you republicans out there be careful what you wish (and vote) for. You just might get it.

12 Click, are corporations that do business with terrorists like Saddam also guilty of the same crimes in your world? For example, would you agree that the CEO of a company who was doing deals with Saddam in the year 1999 should be prosecuted for supporting terrorism in the same way that some person who donated to a charity that helped the Iraqi army should be?

What's your position on that - corporations who financially support Saddam?

True some of the guilty go free and some innocent people spend time in prison. The system is not perfect.

Still when the government believes it is above the law it becomes a problem for all. I saw prosecutors target people and bring them down because they believed they were a potential problem.

I also had my phone tapped and two undercover cops assigned to watch me during the Vietnam war era. One of the cops became a good friend. Other undercover cops lied under oath in a Federal trial to jail two friends accused of burnign a US flag during a demonstration. One of them was actually a provocator who created the incident. I lived through this crap first hand.

I will never trust the government because I have been there and done that.

That does not mean that government is evil, but government is made of men and women willing to do what they must to achieve their assigned goals and not all of them are honest or moral in their means.

This is the same bullshit that allows Police Officers to ILLEGALLY search your vehicle!!!
They only have to SUSPECT that you have something, and that gives them warrant to search your car. Has an officer ever asked if he/she can search your vehicle, and you tell them "NO, I'd rather you didn't."... I have... 5 times already... and every fucking time, they pull that shit... "I think I smell marijuana coming from the vehicle... That gives me the authority to search your vehicle."

FUCK THAT SHIT! This fucking country is going to shit. We need to revolt and take it back. The government has WAY too much power over it's citizens, they do NOT need more.

If this bullshit progresses, we can all kiss our happy "freedom" goodbye. Not that we really have it now, but, at least it's more than most countries have.

If a fucking suit shows up at my door, wanting to search my home... They can do it over my cold dead body.

If these orginizations want to use terrorist tactics, they'll be dealt with like terrorists. Too difficult for you to understand? too fucking bad.

and yes, there are actually assholes who think its a bad thing.
You're either confused, drunk, or just trying to bait people.

All relief organizations based in the Middle East using terrorist tactics? The Red Cross?

Go stick your dick in a toaster oven.

If History teaches one thing, its don't fuck with THE PEOPLE. The minute a country begins to erode its peoples' liberties, it begins the erosion of the government itself.

It might not happen in my lifetime, but I'm sure many of you or your children for sure will witness and participate in a mass uprising against the government one day. Its going in the direction of the opressive regimes on which this great lady was founded with dedication to fight at all costs and sacrificies.

It is better to die and be Free, then to live and be enslaved.

What's your position on that - corporations who financially support Saddam?
if that business broke the law in doing business with iraq (some businesses are allowed to) then they should be procecuted. period.

what is your position on this?

Still when the government believes it is above the law it becomes a problem for all.
there is no sign of that.

I will never trust the government because I have been there and done that.
we can all bring up examples from 35yrs ago.

That doesn't concern me one bit when dealing with terrorist.

Part of me wants to argue with 12clicks. But then I realize that the basic premise of what I have already said is that there are tons of people like him. At this point, we just gotta hope they aren't in the majority... or, come to think of it, even a "Florida Majority".

My position is that your hero Bush is expanding U.S. government power faster and further than any recent Democrat ever dreamed of and people like you, who probably supported smaller government a couple years ago, who probably thought Clinton's blowjob was the worst thing that ever happened to America, now think that we should have military law and burn the constitution if it will protect them from the big bad "terrorists".

Then again, maybe you just like to stir up shit.

On GFY, you never know.

Ok, does that include countries too? Like the usa who created, trained and supplied both saddam and osama? Like the usa which has repeatedly supported terrorism when it was in its own interests?
Are you saying that the usa should be dealt with like terrorists? Sure sounds that way.

you're a smart one.

I didn't think you'd answer my question. you're to busy hating your betters to let a debate on the facts get in the way.
