True some of the guilty go free and some innocent people spend time in prison. The system is not perfect.

Still when the government believes it is above the law it becomes a problem for all. I saw prosecutors target people and bring them down because they believed they were a potential problem.

I also had my phone tapped and two undercover cops assigned to watch me during the Vietnam war era. One of the cops became a good friend. Other undercover cops lied under oath in a Federal trial to jail two friends accused of burnign a US flag during a demonstration. One of them was actually a provocator who created the incident. I lived through this crap first hand.

I will never trust the government because I have been there and done that.

That does not mean that government is evil, but government is made of men and women willing to do what they must to achieve their assigned goals and not all of them are honest or moral in their means.
