All I'm saying in my posts are that people should start using GOOGLE and research this for themselves.

I have been trying to put a human face to HIV, in the hopes that each and every person, no matter what their role is in the adult industry, does take people getting infected with HIV in our industry personally.

I've spent most of my adult life living here in the Bay Area, Ground Zero for HIV and AIDS.

Over the years I have lost over a dozen friends to AIDS, most in the late 80's and early 90's, including a couple of dear friends. Perhaps that does make me extra sensitive about this issue.

I'm happy that better treatments are now available, and I don't have to visit friends in hospices as often, or attend as many funerals as I had to in the early days of HIV/AIDS.

There is nothing I would like better than to see a cure to such a dreadful disease. We're in the adult industry, so we celebrate sex. How tragic that undiagnosed and untreated, HIV/AIDS can kill you.

According to the FSC/PASS site, the FSC was supposed to meet Tuesday about patient #3 exposure re-tests, and to decide what steps to take next, such as lifting or extending the production moratorium, which was announced as a result of HIV+ #3 (even though the FSC initially said HIV+ #3 never worked in the industry - kind of begs the question as to who is being re-tested if HIV+ #3 never worked with anyone after testing positive).

One thing is known, Public Health officials have to be notified by the testing clinic within 7 days of any HIV+ results, so we'll find out soon enough who is telling the truth this time (although both the FSC/AHF are masters of double-talk spin control deception).

@AsianDiva - CalOSHA already has new language for 5193 that is industry specific that is being sent to FedOSHA for approval this month.

AB640 is nothing more than political and fundraising grandstanding. No one is going to enforce this just as they dont bother to enforce Measure B in LA County.

CalOSHA is the department that has authority over workplace safety. When Weinstein didnt get the unwavering support he wanted for his pet project from CalOSHA he found Hall and paid him some money. Hall must think this will take him national and keeps trying to pass an unnecessary bill. Most the legislators know its wasteful. I suspect thats why his first one died in committee.

I've never done that because we have a standing order from our personal physician at Lab Corp. Cost is $59

But IF you went for the free testing here...most days of the month they do the "2 weeks" to get the results. But one day a month they do the rapid hiv test:

I prefer to use Lab Corp (the same company that does blood work nationwide every time any of you go to the doctor and need blood tests done).

We found out how much the price was jacked up by AIM and TTS in the past when my doctor sent me there to get blood drawn. I was telling the nurse what we did for a living and said that Claudia Marie had to test every month and it was $130 PLUS the fee for whomever did the draw.

The people at Lab Corp were shocked. They told me we were getting screwed hard and showed me the cost of the test. Told me to just go to my doctor and get an order for it.

So we did. :)

If the industry is forced to go condom only, and continues with testing (as I feel it should), then why not partner up with AHF as a educational/safe-sex partner if they are willing to make testing more affordable for performers?

Then the adult trade organization representing the organization could serve the industry better as an independent industry watchdog (if we co-pay for testing, a small % could go to the industry watchdog group to underwrite education and other efforts within the industry).
