				Music today?

What have you noticed? How do bands make the most money today? Itunes?

What I have noticed. I don't listen to the radio anymore. I have been listening to more bands locally. Back when I was younger there were alot of bands that focused on the young male. I don't see those anymore. There have always been boy bands that target younger girls and they still do well.

Radio is still the number one way to stardom in music.

These days they make money a lot of different ways. Itunes/amazon/sale of MP3, publishing, Youtube views, fan clubs and selling stuff to fan club members, touring, merchandise like shirts, stickers, hats etc and ring tones. If they get big enough then you can add in clothing, perfume/cologne, various endorsements, product sponsorship for tour and videos and media deals with companies like Live Nation. |

The bands make the big part of the cash thru the paid streaming services as spotify, but also beatport , itunes as you say junodownload and many major stores for digital downloads are IN too.

Streaming can be good if you are a well known band. If not it doesn't amount to much, but when you are trying to get noticed and get bigger the exposure of the streams is likely more valuable then the few cents you make from them.
