Ever drink a $20 bottle of beer?

We started our weekend, going to Dorothy's Chuck Wagon in Camarillo where I had the Gator Sausage and Jalapeno bacon

Then we drove up to the Santa Barbara Zoo where the GF played with the elephants, Giraffes and Lions.

We rode the train around the zoo

then the next morning we rode up to Los Olivos for some BBQ and visit our favorite silver smith and check out their collection of old cork screws

Then on the way back, we stopped in Carpinteria and visited the Island Brewing Company and had a $20 beer, that's before tax, and it was the smoothest beer I have ever had, it was like desert, I heard some guy actually puts a scoop of Ice Cream in it. The owner wasn't there, but I saw some Submariner stuff and asked, the owner is a Submariner, his son got my email addy and phone number. Going to meet the owner and get a tour of the place maybe next time I go up there, can't wait

I've never had a $20 beer, but I have had a $60 hamburger. Worth every penny!

The zoo looks like it might be small, but pretty cool how close you can get to the animals.

Zoo started off as a petting zoo 50 years ago, it's the best zoo in California IMHO. They had an alligator when they started that's still there, she's 52.

Hell, there are clubs in LA that charge that much for a Budweiser.

FYI: Stouts are great for beer floats.

goodgirl has recently gotten into making ice cream; the recipe she found included bourbon, of which we had none, so we tried with brandy instead. It was excellent, so she tried again with Udder Love from Beachwood BBQ & Brewing

Another success; so last night she made more. One batch with Hangar 24 Chocolate Porter (that would be great with a beer float) and another with El Segundo Brewing Company's Grand Hill IPA. Looking forward to seeing how the IPA one comes out.

I've had some ice cream like that, was awesome

As far as the $20 beer, I was watching people pack up a six pack and was just amazed. But that was damn good beer. Hey when I get in contact with the owner I'll see if I can meet up with him and get a tour of the place, wanna go?

Depending on the day, sure. Lots of beer festivals coming up, so weekdays are probably best (if that works).

Yes, Singapore is super expensive for normal beer. Bottle of Miller light is $16 + 21% tax and service. Pint of Guinness was $32 + 21%, incredible.

Not a chance. I avoid events that puts thousands of weekend warriors on the freeway the same time as me. I played escort a couple times back in the late 80's/early 90's. One time I brought my son so he could see some celebs. I asked him if he wanted to ride along with them for a while. After about 5 minutes neither of us could wait to get away from that group.

Be safe.

I'd be surprised if there were not accidents every year. Bunch of people that only ride a couple times a year . . . scary stuff.
