I'm not a total Sci-Fi geek, however I get easily bored with Transformers all-action type movies, and I really don't care to see another remake of the 7th sequel to a comic book.

I generally base my viewing decisions upon trailers and BTS featurettes (which I often enjoy more than the movie):

I'll give it a go and let you know what I think (no spoilers, I promise)...

I didn't see District 9, so I can't compare the two. I'm seeing mixed reviews too, however Elysium appears to be off to a decent box office start by taking in $30m this weekend (compared to the list of duds so far this year...RIPD, Lone Ranger, White House Down, After Earth, etc).

It was an OK sci-fi movie, with a heavy handed political message -- but some really sweet, gory kills. No one can make people blow up like Neil Blomkamp.

Jodie Foster's weird performance took me out of the movie several times.

Question for those who saw it- are these two classes totally divided without class mobility? Did they mention comparative advantage?
