California Hosts the Most Porn in the US

Quote:
MetaCert, a company that offers tools for parents to protect children from inappropriate content online, has launched an infographic that shows which countries host the most porn, and the most popular TLDs for hosting porn.
The US hosts 60 percent of porn websites, hosting 241.1 million more pages than the Netherlands, which takes the second spot on the list for countries hosting the most porn. Rounding out the top three is the UK. The UK has taken a strong stance against online porn with plans to roll out a porn filter that ISPs will turn on by default in 2014.
In the US, California hosts 66 percent of porn, and Alaska hosts the least, with only 10,363 pages of porn hosted there. Texas and New York host 8 percent of porn sites, respectively.
.COM is by far the most popular TLD for hosting porn, accounting for 82.46 percent of porn sites.

That information doesn't appear to be very accurate.

I did not think so either, it made no sense "hosting". Maybe they are basing it on where the domains are registered?

If they are using whois the results would be pretty messed up by domain privacy and such.

True.. But it cannot be based on the hosting. Maybe the un-private registry only.
