Either way, great quote.

Another one i really like was from Nietzsche:

"There were eternities in which it did not exist, and when it vanishes once again it will have left nothing in its wake. For human intellect serves no further task than human life. Instead it is merely human and only its owner and producer regard it so pathetically as to suppose that it contains within itself the hinge on which the world turns." A little grim and nihilistic, but pretty awesome at the same time.

That contrasts sharply with the completely closed minded attitudes that religious people and people who are adherents of various pop philosophies maintain. Those people who start out with a premise based on no evidence, with no rigorous research, peer review of challenges to the dogma allowed and they won't listen to any reason or be willing change their minds for any reason. In summation, it's easy to convince an atheist that god or the Loch Ness monster or anything else you want to claim else exists. Prove it with evidence. The opposite- getting those with faith to change their opinion about anything- simply cannot be accomplished- and that's the fatal flaw in all faith based systems of belief.

when have I ever stated that I'm religious? meticulous detail? pay attention to what I have posted, I speak only about my personal relationship with god no one else's, never mention religion, never tried to push a pop phycology on you... never said you had to believe..... see what I mean" you are being unduly harsh because you are able to separate my statements for others..... seriously I have to ask at this point... are you stupid? or are you being deliberately obtuse? if you have issue with religious people take it up with them... it doesn't concern me :2 cents:

This is the first time I've ever read someone say that they have a personal relationship with god but aren't religious. Whatever you say. I guess words in the English language can mean whatever the individual writer wants them to mean if that's the case. I'm going to let this be my last comment in this thread because I believe I've made my point quite convincingly and you've unwittingly helped a great deal so there's no reason for it to devolve into acrimony. I'm going back to working on some porn instead of pontificating.

well there you go Jim... I see no connection between religion and god, never have and more than likely never will...the only point I can see that you have tried to make consistently is not accepting that someone could have a positive relation with god without 'written rules' and 'sponsorship from an organization' ... kinda like spiritual welfare and food stamps I suppose....

the good news is thank god you aren't religious, with your limited perceptions and understanding I sure the world would not be a better place with you demanding that we all follow god rules as written without any deviation whatsoever :2 cents:

and you are more than welcome to be a narrow minded as you like young man and been shooting all day while posting hence the typos and grammars errors.. :thumbsup
