By 40 a lot of people would have accumulated a lot of skeletons. So when you are going out with some one and if things are getting serious should I start digging for skeletons ? or just ignore it and say past is past ?

No, I split up late last year after 17 years. Now back on the dating scene...I am 42 now. Some one said I should target 28 (42 divide by 2 and add 7).

Dating is all new to me, last time I was dating I was still in college. Shit a lot to learn !!

Hitting the gym daily, I am amazed what a divorce can do for your motivation. Not going to get out the county until my kid turns 18 and go to college. I will be 50 by that time but yes I plan on moving out.

Unless you are looking for a replacement mother for your kid a woman's past is irrelevant. Go into each relationship with the knowledge it will be short lived, have a good time, let it run its natural course then move on.

If you by chance find a keeper good for you but keep in mind you are both set in your ways, have own lives, probably baggage on both parts, force nothing.

Beyond that, I believe you're over thinking it. I am not sure what sort of 'checks' you're referencing exactly? Are you wanting to know if she will be a good mother to your kid? If she has a criminal record? Or you are simply wanting to know if all of her lies match up?
