That's been going on for a long time from what I understand. It's been ages since I downloaded an MP3, though, so I haven't encountered it.

i think the game developers did this first.. they even created fake files or non-working, crashing versions..

but the mp3's are just getting worse and worse.. i didnt say its somethin new, but the % of crappy ones is really high lately

You would think the Music industry would focus on making better music instead of playing with fake MP3s.

Shitty unoriginal music is to blame for the industry slump... not P2P.

p2p does have a negative effect on sales. everyone i know with a high speed connection has either stopped buying music or has drastically cut down on buying music.

If any one of you guys had someone ripping your website you'd flip out. How do you think an artist feels having their hard work stolen or the company that invested in them. It's bull shit. Spend the fucking 15 bucks or so on a CD or get a job if you can't afford it. Ridiculous!

before the eminem show album came out his record label made looped choruses the exact same length as the songs and leaked it so people on kazaa would get the songs mixed up. i dont dl on kazaa though, its terrible unless you need a certain song.

it's fuckin bullshit and you know it...

I must have over 200 cd's, and I'm only 20..... I believe in buying... but, how the fuck would I open my horizons... go buy a cd of something I don't know?

go buy the moody blues when I "believe" that they have one song I like? Fuck that...

I buy cds of groups I support.. groups I have been listening since day one... I buy cd's that are mixed.... where are you gonna find those online? I buy cds of groups I learn about from downloading mp3s...

internet didn't kill librairies or books, it's just a new medium.. so is mp3.

if the music industry would have grasped mp3 and offered to buy cd's off mp3s... or buy ther songs you like, there wouldn't be a problem...

All content providers were sending cds only before when I started.. could barely find a place ot download... now it's the opposite...

they moved with the technology...

would they have offered mp3 cds, there would be a new section on amazon and new such sites...

I wouldn't doubt that some lables may put out shitty sounding mp3s... but I would say it has alot to do with individuals not knowing how to encode an mp3 properly. There are lots of reasons why they could be bad quality. The original source was bad. The mp3 was downloaded, recorded to a cd, then re-encoded badly. Not using the right tools to encode...ect....
Whatever the case may be, if you use a program like kaaza to get mp3s, you will never know what your actually getting untill you listen to it and even then it could be labeled wrong. I wouldn't recommend using kaaza at all.

FUCK the music companies. Maybe artists will grow a brain and just dump their labels and put out their music for free, and just do concerts. Its not like they make bank selling CD's, we all know how much crap % they get, which is a fucking JOKE ON THEM.

Its time for the artists to run the music industry.

I have to agree...

Imagine walking into a music store, going to a computer, and listening to mp3s of various artists, you pick and choose and pay 1 dollar for every song. You spend 20 dollars and get cd quality songs burned onto a cd. You leave the store feeling satisfied and arn't dissapointed when you get home and listen to the cd.
Instead, you go spend $20+ on a cd because you heard one song on tv/radio that sounds awesome. Only to discover that thats the only good song on the cd. No thanks.

Ofcourse we dont live in a perfect world and business is business.

Its too bad too. I find myself discovering new bands I would never heard of before if it wasn't for mp3s, and they end up getting my money because in the end, not only do I want to support bands that make good music. I want a piece of that music.. I want the cd case and artwork.

I must have about 500 albums in my basement and can probably count on both hands and feet the number of albums that are good on both sides. I remember the hype that the record industry does to get you to buy 1 song albums or CD's and now it's come back to haunt them. I like the try before you buy.

Fuck the music industry's words. I've been using P2P for a while now, BUT I buy cds all the time. Right now I have just about 1000 cds in my collection, I would've had more if I didn't sell a pile of them on Ebay.

Anyways, with P2P, I'll hear a song on the radio that catches my attention, so I'll come home and download it, getting the song stuck in my head, so I'll go out and download a couple of other songs from the same artist, if they're good, I'll just go out and buy the cd, if the other songs suck, then I won't.

I know that in the years before P2P, I got burned on quite a few cds that had one song that sold me on buying the cd, then the rest of it sucked. I think that's part of the reason for more people using P2P, people get to listen to most of the cd to realize that it sucks, so they don't buy it.

I'm sure that there's a huge share of people that just download and burn the entire cds, but I'm not one of them, I keep buying here on my end. If it's something that's good, I want the original, fuck the burned copies.
