Your gas and electricity bill

Just out of morbid curiosity.

I know some of you dont live in the dorms or at your parents house, so for those of you that do... what are you paying a month for gas and electric?

Gas - 175.00 a month (winter time)
Electric - 80.00 a month.

Is that on the high end? or do some of you have it worse?

I was just thinking about these type of bills today. The gas and electric companies are running a racket. Getting a electric bill in the mail is like getting a report card in the mail when you were in middle school. Like 'damn, I'm afraid to open it'. You never know what you'll see. One month can be $40 next month $150.

Isn't there some sort of problem with oil or something? Some region that makes it has something to do with it.

Gee.. ya made me go dig out the bills...and it's not pretty.

Looked at January's $317 for electricity and $127 for gas. Went back and looked at July's for comparison... electricity was $321 and gas was $22.

Heck.. and we don't leave the lights on much either. In the summer is the a/c mostly that keeps it high. In the winter the lights are on for more hours.

We used to have bad electric bills during the winter since we only had electric heat. Now after we put in the propane heater, it is ~$250 for two months plus the $75 to fill the tank every three months... I love it!

well, that's why I find it unusual that my electric bill is $180 a month here. There's no heat running. Ever. Virtually never any lights on. The only damn thing running is a couple computers, and every once in a while the dishwasher or laundry stuff....

where they're getting $180 worth from, I don't know.
