I've been to Vancouver numerous times, it has a very diverse population. If you consider all Asians to be Chinese then you're biased assumption would be correct.

I was in Vancouver for Canada's day, right downtown by the Olympic torch place.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm far from racist it was just very surprising for us we are from Quebec city... 95% white and french speaking ... very boring multicultural wise.

So, Me and my wife were a minority of white people, it was like 25% Indian, Pakistan ect, 50% Asian 5% black and the rest was a mix of white and aboriginals.

Everyone was wearing very proudly Canadian's colors and waiving flags, biggest Canadian Fever I ever seen... people were VERY proud.

Immigration is a good thing, but many native Canadians from the area told me that they dont go downtown anymore cause they just cant afford to live there anymore as the rich immigrants inflated the price too much in the last decade.

The main reason being an immigration rule ( i did not verify )
If you invest 1 million dollar in Canada you almost get automatically your Canadian papers for you and your family.

So now they build huge glass towers with 1 million dollar condos and from there its a passport for them and their family.
