The internet has removed the face-to-face aspect of scamming someone so anyone that previously wouldn't have been brave enough can now do it internationally with anonymity.

easy money went away because of the war on terror.

I have been a member for about 11 years and other than moving slower it is about the same now as it was 11 years ago.

I think part of the problems are the mods not being active on the board. They should make some of the active members mods and start taking out the scammers and 2cent post whores.
