How to "feed" pinborards. RSS or Feedburner? What's the difference?
Hi there,
what's the point in using feedburner and the feedburner ID to feed pinboards if I can use the feed address at mywebsite.com/feed/? If I'm using RSS feeds only to "feed" social media and pinboards, how's feedburner useful? Isn't mywebsite.com/feed/ enough? Thanks |

I'm not even sure feedburner is even relevant for anything anymore. Once google took it over it just kind of starting dying out and I no longer see it doing anything better then basic WP does nowadays as far as my subscribers go. So why filter my traffic through a 3rd party?
Also since google reader was killed on July 1st my rss feed numbers are nearly gone now.

I'm not talking about subscribers but only about "feeding" pinboards with automated content. Is there any advantage in using feedburner over mywebsite.com/feed/? Thanks |

In the sex.com setting I would put mywebsite.com/feed/ but I've read somewhere I need to put my feedburner ID address, so I'm wondering what the difference is and why it's more convenient to use feedburner instead of my /feed/ URI... Thanks |

Maybe it is because they know that feedburner feeds follow the standards and their parser only has to know how to parse that exact type of feed. I don't know their reasoning, but only having to parse one exact type of feed is much easier than having to deal with tons of different non-standard feeds. WP feeds ought to be standard, but people do all sorts of funny stuff with them

I don't even know if there's one... I'm trying to figure out what RSS to use first... but I haven't succeded in that yet. I might just go for the website.com/feed/ and forget about feedburner until I'll discover by myself it was the wrong choice... Anyways google will probably shut feedburner down soon... I dont think they're making much money out of it |
