How do you add arbitrary amounts from a third party to a ccbill affiliate account? Sounds intriguing. Is the sale marked in a special way so we can tell BTC sales?

When a guest arrives at any of our join pages, the CCBill affiliate ID is tacked on to the guest's bitcoin order. Once the bitcoin sale is complete, the affiliate ID is recorded and is posted back into your CCBill account, like any other sale.

Who got this integrated for you? Who would I, as someone on a level of slightly below tech idiot, need to get in touch with to get this on my ccbill program?

Also, are users automatically added via ccbill - I assume so but if I don't ask I won't know 100%

If she didn't work for Metart I'd say she was full of shit but Metart has been with CCBILL since the beginning and has made CCBILL more money than any other program so they can get CCBILL to do things the rest of us can't.

CCBILL has the capability to integrate their affiliate backend with Bitpay - so they should be making it available to their other clients.

I'm not interested, I want recurring billing and bitcoins can't be set up to do recurring payments.

Gotcha on the ccbill thing, will wait for a reply on that one

Ok maybe I'm missing something here, as everyone keeps saying about the recurring being the #1 deal-breaker to using BTC - surely the workaround is to take your average retention, and have bitcoin users only able to purchase that subscription length? So, cc = monthly/single, BTC = 3/6/12 month only at $whatever. Unless like I say, I'm missing something. Seems to be a bit of 2 birds in the bush being worth more than 1 in the hand way of thinking around it all though.

So should Met cash out the bitcoins right now or sit on them for a bit longer?

Mutt, I'd also like to believe that because it's ME, you would recognize that I'm not full of shit.

This is not a CCbill integration - it's our own custom integration developed and implemented by us. We do the same thing and have done the same thing for YEARS for our cam sales in order to pay our affiliates every penny they earn.

Other programs could do the same, but we actually do it.

We offer BitCoin users the opportunity to choose 1 month, 1 year or Lifetime subscription options. The fact that it is non-recurring is not an issue for us - our products sell themselves and our members come back time and again. The fact that BitCoin gives consumers piece of mind that they will not be automatically rebilled is a benefit that we recognize.

Good question.

For affiliates, it doesn't matter. We pay them in USD for each sale, regardless of what we choose to do internally with the BitCoins.

Holding Bitcoins isn't ideal at this time- we convert Bitcoins to cash within 15 minutes of a sale to avoid the volatility. Our BitCoin price is determined by the current market value for Bitcoins and fluctuates based on that.

Yes but you could keep sitting on them and cash out on a better price (if that comes up) no?

great stuff

do you automatically adjust price in bitcoins based on current exchange rate or are you using some period's average value? or are you simply integrated with bitpay?

i'd suggest to keep even smallest portion of revenue in bitcoin, as a hedge. past two consecutive years bitcoin valuation increased over 1000% annually. if bitcoin even gets traction it could be very big. it is still expanding and could potentially gain significant adoption throughout the internet services and digital subscriptions

I would not, I think ;)

It depends on a few things like is it new found money I would not have had before anyways, do I need it badly to pay bills, the current market, etc. I'd probably gamble a bit and keep it in a wallet before cashing out.

I personally would hold them in case of a paysite.
Most likely it's extra money. You wouldn't have it in the first place.
And besides some cheap BW you won't lose much.

But not every business will gamble like that ofcourse.

From an affiliate standpoint, it's good to know that your money isn't being hedged against profits or losses but guaranteed.

Prerecorded content site it can gamble, but cam site it can't. Most of the bitcoins money will go to pay the cam girl and she wants dollars. Let's say I sell worth $10,000 of bitcoins, I give to affiliate worth $4,000 (immediately as bitcoin), to model $4,000 (these will NOT want bitcoins, but dollars, after 2 weeks) and I keep $2,000. But I keep bitcoins worth $6000 (models+mine part) up to the 2 weeks payout period I pay models $4,000. But bitcoins value crashed to 50% its value: my bitcoins value $3,000 or less, I lost $3,000 but really I had made $2,000 of my part. So I lost more than my income, I need $1,000 took from elsewhere to cover the hole I made. One could say, hey, but what if bitcoins value $12,000, twice... yes but I can invest in Wall Street or go play Vegas when I want with my dollars, in any case, and I don't do it.

Yes that is a key problem of bitcoins, there should be an spinoff called "fixedcoins" which would be same principle but with fixed value.
