Yes and then I also remember when my family had a remote but it had a wire on it that plugged into the tv.

Remember the metal knobs? Me and my brother were scared to touch it because sometimes you'd get a static zap so powerful you could actually see a blue arc to your finger. Eventually I learned how to smack the knob with my knuckle first to discharge the static.
Then you grab that knob with your wrist cocked as far as it would twist, and spin that fucker all the way around. My dad would get so pissed.

On the old cable boxes with the big box of buttons attached with a wire, you used to be able to jam two buttons down at once and the scrambled channels would unscramble. But only if you did it just right. The first movie I ever saw on HBO was Rollerball..

I remember having a remote for a VCR and thinking we were the shit, even tho it had a wire.
My friends were impressed by our ability to change the channel with a device. Now everything in my home is controlled by my iPhone and iPad.
