Anyone had dealings with these people, I got an email and I am not 100% sure if they are protecting my copyright on my behalf or accusing me of infringing copyright.

It as my URL and then a URL of "infringing" domain which is NOT mine.....

You run a sponsor program, right?

Maybe they are just sending you a copy because some affiliate of yours is being accused of stealing content? From what I've read about Apic, they falsely accuse people sometimes, so you should ask them for proof before you do anything.

Tell the fuckers to boil it down to about three plain English sentences and you'll cut the bullshit on your end as well.

That's what has always been wrong with APIC, his strategy is just stupid. He hunts down the smallest fish, guys on free hosting it seems to me most of the time, then sends these threatening emails to programs whose banners are on the infringers site, and the free hosts, and anbody else with the slightest connection to the infringement.

Like 5 years ago I posted to him on YNOT, put your money where your mouth is, sue a free host if you're so sure that they are liable for all the infringements on them. Sue a processor. Do something other than running around like a hysterical chicken with his head cut off and blaming people who are only tangentially involved in an infringement , in the way he has implicated Darin in this case. He really wants Darin to believe he or the APIC member he is representing are going to sue him because the infringer also happens to be promoting one of Darin's sites? HAHAHAHHAHHA...........get real.

There are plenty of real serious cases of infringement this guy could go after hard and they don't involve third parties like a webmaster affiliate program or a free host. Clear cut cases where he could make some big $$$ for those who APIC represents.

He's the boy who cried wolf. All the people I know who do own content have nothing to do with APIC, they look after their own biz and instead of yelling and screaming they do take legal action.

When was the last time APIC posted a lawsuit by one of their members? A succesful lawsuit.
