Business Owners - What version of QuickBooks do you use?

Thinking of upgrading to 2013. What version do you use and do you like it?

Should be interesting to see the responses in this thread. I've got so many different platforms I just use the cloud version.

Xero is the best solution.

Quickbooks and MYOB etc are dinosaurs in comparison.

I use 2011 and don't need updates because I run payroll through PayCycle (which Intuit bought last year... but I was using before then).

Automatic bank and Paypal feeds, the ability for my accountant to work on it live from his office without having to share a data file with him, being able to do online invoicing, simple tax preparation, easy payroll, excellent reporting, it's just a great product.

Many banks offer Quicken integration...

Link Quicken with your business bank account, and a lot of the tax, payroll, A/R, and A/P work, gets done automatically for you as you use conduct business, plus it enables you to analyze your business better.

maybe but my accountant uses QB... he goes over my books every few moths, messes around with stuff, then tells what I need to do to make life easer. right now he has the books doing my 1099's and this all by internet and ftp. if that's dinosaur it's good enough for me

I actually want my books isolated from the net. QB might or might not do that however I have no interest in that at all.

QB version 2010 still, but I hardly use it, aside from creating invoices.

Depends on how many of our companies he works the taxes for, we've actually known him a long time so we get a break on the cost, usually throw him around $1k and he'll do all 6 companies for us.

We also use him for other finance related business projects too which is why we get such a good rate with him.

2012, pretty much just upgrade whenever they stop supporting a version

Their yearly payroll fee I find uncomfortably high for what I use it for

If you don't do a payroll, would you still suggest accounting software? I'm going it all by hand via excel and it's getting a bit tough to keep on top of.
