Yeah, Shaq sure showed Yao how to lose to a much less talented team last time.
Too bad Yao won't be taught that lesson again. |

No kidding....
If Shaq was 100lbs smaller he would be a joke, guy has damn near zero talent only reason he is so "dominate" is the refs let him foul and walk w/o calling it. |

yao put in on shaq last time in the 1st quarter... he just ran out of gas... give him a few years to bulk up and he will be better than shaq (mainly because shaq is banged up and his injuries will probably only get worse with age)... i cant stand shaq but he does have some skills... he definately wouldnt be half of what he is if he didnt have size but to say he has no skills isnt fair... he is a pretty good passer and he has developed a pretty good midrange shot... but i cant stand that prick

Like it matters what anyone does in the all star game, it means NOTHING. I don?t care what they say; NO ONE puts his career on the line by playing 100% full out for a game that won't matter.
No #4 this year, (of course thanks to the refs, they got #3, Kings got robbed) If Phil was the god some claim him to be they would not be #9 in the west would they? Shaq would just be another BB player if he was 100lbs smaller. If Wilt, Kareem, and Russell were all 12" shorter they still would be GREAT PLAYERS. Shaq may have a mid range shot but little else. No ball control, no FT shot, and little offense other than a dunk where he STILL lifts his feet to make it look like it's hard for a 7' man to do. If not for that 100lbs he would be a bench player or a starter for the clippers. BTW, Go PACERS!!!! ![]() ![]() |

BTW,the guy that played at UCLA with Shaq was better than him,as big as him and Shaq even admits to it...It's a shame he had injuries and then a drug charge that suspended him form the NBA for 3 years... forgot his name?

funny you should throw the word "rookie" into the thread. lets take a look at shaq's rookie year shall we: <iframe src="http://www.nba.com/playerfile/shaquille_oneal/?nav=page" height="700" width="700"></iframe> now 23 points per game is great, esp. for a rookie but lets not forget that he had penny hard away on his team to share the ball with! Yao ming is a side show, great for the games in terms of selling tickets and brining in more fans. his stats are a joke for a first round draft pick and a 7'6'' player |

lmao.....
![]() I didn't mention yao cause I don't give a damn about him. I do think he is rookie of the year, but than I don't care that much for rookies. exspamr said it best.... "give him a few years" It?s his FIRST YEAR NBA, that means ALOT. Sabonis is a big goof, why he is still in the NBA I?ve no idea. They may be close size wise but he is not exactly the same as shaq. And I never said Shaq was totally useless. Just not to confuse size with talent. Just like all this shit about LeBron James. Dose anyone else realize he is playing HIGH SCHOOLERS? So what he will be #1 in the draft. That means so much to a team and in history. Now, lets all eat, drink and be merry.... who ever she is.... And Personally I don?t think the Lakers will make the playoffs. West is starting to heat up and with shaqs ?little piggy going to the market? they are going to be hurting even more. ![]() |

didn't he play in some communist country? I know he was forced to stay where he was and couldnt come to the NBA until he was like 30... Dude have you seen Sabonis NOW? The guy has absolutly no foot work because his knees are gone but he can still score at will, shoot the jumper and he's by far the greatest passer over 7 feet that I've ever seen... You can only imagine how good he was when he was 25

notice the trend? Almost all the great centers have played for the Lakers..... Bill Russell, Hakeem were some badass mofo for the celtics and rockets. But when you look at the history of the game the Lakers always made sure they had the best in the league.
Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, __ ?____ Who's the next monster in line for the Lakers?

Went to college with Shaq, drafted a year before Shaq to the Magic and was supposed to be one of the greats..then when they drafted Shaq he was traded to a few teams, got hurt, got into drugs and got suspended from the league for 3 years... Like TDF said he was just reinstated and should be signing with somebody this week...

Yao is good but he is no where near Shaq talent. The first meeting between the two Shaq ended with the last laugh on the one on one stats the the game itself was screwed because of a terrible call by the ref on a flagrant foul that the league later overturned. That didn't give us the win back tho.
GO LAKERS!!!!!!!
