With he holiday season in full swing I / we are considering a few "donations". As a "hobbyist" in this industry I could use some guidance.... Is this worthwhile?

Ask what percentage of your donation goes towards "administrative fees" they often "forget" to tell you about that when you give your cash. Trust me on this.

Morning Spunky. I don't know you & perhaps you are known for your snide remarks. Regardless, if a snide remark is warranted I'd like to know. I / we can choose to be charitable in numerous ways. I prefer to help those who deserve it.

Bottom line, I'd appreciate candid / honest feedback .. the good and the bad.

I haven't read the link, but I think you would be better off helping a family that you know who is going through some rough times. Maybe they have little kids that will not see much of a Christmas. Play Secret Santa or leave a box of food on their doorstep. Things like this are very meaningful to the receivers as they are a complete surprise, it will do a real and immediate good.
