Anybody that tells you that a good old fashion TGP can not generate sales or leads is lying to you. I am not a TGP/MGP owner. This is friendly advice to noobies.

First of all, with bandwidth being so cheap? Fuck it, throw some movie galleries or picture galleries out there. People around here tend to forget that it is hard to watch porn videos at home when the wife and kids are looming just mere inches away from your PC. This is a fact.

Guys like to watch, and they like to watch knowing that they possibly could get caught. Maybe not all guys, but yeah...

What does it hurt? You still have plenty of start of the web/old school surfers out there. Are they as prevalant as they were in 1998? Nope, but still. Why not? Throw up 12-15 pictures or a few videos and submit to those that still accept them. If you think nobody accepts handmade galleries? Think again. Think TheHun.net - think Patrick hasn't swapped out for the tube model for a good reason? I know why, and he still gets quality traffic. Why? He has never fucked anybody over.

I can think of at least a dozen people that still follow this model, and they are still there... operating like tubes did not exist. It's quality, not quantity... that's where a lot of you guys fail. I'll go on...

A million quality hits will generate more sales per surfer. Plain and simple. TheHun generates quality/bookmarked traffic. It get exposure... as much as the tubes you ask? No, that's apparent. However, may they come via search engines or sheer loyalty, they come - they buy - they remember.

Tubes? Fuck, where do I begin... It's a crap shoot. I can only imagine how many bots, scrapers, etc are scrubbing them out every minute. The thing is? There is no sales pitch. Not much of one anyways.

People inherently like to be sold things, otherwise infomercials would not exist. People want a deal. If you make it pretty, slap a bow on it - and throw it in their faces they will buy it.

Tubes are shooting themselves in the foot with cam pupunders, HD buttons that take you to a join page etc. It's bad, and they quality sucks.

All in all, build a better product, revert your mind back to the original model... let them steal it. Sue them, DMCA them, hire somebody - but in the end, people want substance.

Remember, when you get paid it's nice to go out and buy something awesome that you worked for. It feels good knowing you worked for it.

TGPs aren't dead and will never be dead. At least not within the next decade. But they are declining. There is a reason all these TGPs are being sold lately. That's kind of deceiving though. It's not just TGPs it's the paysite affiliate. It's a combination of less sales and actually getting paid for a smaller amount of the sales you still generate as an affiliate. TGPs typically are affiliates to some degree.

The people selling aren't dumb. They know what they made per 1 million visitors and they compare it over time and see trends. If your traffic is declining and your $ per visitor is likewise decreasing it doesn't take a psychic to predict what will likely happen.

If you saw your revenue decrease in the last two years 40% and someone is offering you 1-3 years current revenue for your site then you are probably going to take it.

Very true, there are tgp sites making bank., as times have changed , TGP's with a single page and only 20-40 galleries wont make you bank , affiliates have to work hard and stick to the plan.

I wouldn't call it "bank", but there are guy out there pulling in some decent money. Times have changed.

Giving it is not selling it. Selling it is not an ENTER HERE hyperlink any longer. Selling it is about the pitch. School the end user about why it is that they can not function properly unless they join.

Use tube sites against them. Let them know the degraded quality, the lack on exclusivity. Make your back end fun, make it interactive. Make it an experience that they can not get outside of the back end of your member's area. Forums, social networking (internal), likes, dislikes... just like minded individuals being like minded with enough to keep them busy...

and then up sell mainstream dating (WHICH PAYS BTW) by taking your members through a couple of different domains in a frame.

In the end, all they want is to get laid. No, they are not fucking Alexis Texas, but it's REAL and the will credit you for the fat chick they fucked last week in the back of an F250.

We still produce movie and picture galleries and I often wonder if the time/energy/money spent making them is worth while. Most MGP's have turned into tubes, TGP's are still making sales, that I can confirm but will they end up as pin sites down the road as that format is now taking off.

The way I see it, the MGP's sole purpose was to promote a paysite with samples, the main purpose of most tubes is to get as many page views as possible and sell ad space by impression. The income from sending sales to sponsors isn't a priority anymore unfortunately.

Times change, it's a fact of life. A happy medium would be on pages with sponsored clips the ads are for the paysite uploading that 5+ minute clip. To give the content owner 1 link out of 8 ads on the page isn't right. To make matters worse some tubes are taking their share of the watermark too.

Picture galleries are still very much worth it but affiliates have to know how to *sell* now. The scatter gun method of a few years ago is dead and gone. Every gallery and submission has to count now.
