Question for you Obama supporters (US only please)

How do you feel about him now? Knowing what you know now, would you still vote for him?

Are you ready for Syria?

good question, was wondering that myself... apparently 'crossing a red line' isn't state policy. just some random bullshit Obama popped off with at a press conference. now as a nation we are 'tied' to that remark... what a dipshit... we were almost better off when he spent his time worrying about people watching him at walmart

Obama and Democrats Have Found a Friend: John McCain

Barack Obama, to hear his advisers tell it, has finally found The One he has been looking for: John McCain.

“We have been looking literally for years for someone we can cut deals with, and finally someone has stepped up,” a White House official said. West Wing aides say they now talk with McCain roughly every other day.

When Bush was president and did something stupid, the conservatives would say "well, a Democrat president would have done the same thing." Now we have Obama as president, doing something stupid, and the Liberals are saying "well, what would McCain have done?"

It's quite cute.

Carry-on!

Hi Baddog, I know I''m not American but you value my opinion anyway. ;)

I like Obama, but I really hope he doesn't attack Syria. Bush made a huge mistake invading Iraq and I hope Obama doesn't make the same mistake. I hope he follow's the UK's lead and keeps out, or at least, waits until the UN inspectors have done their job.

If anything, Obama needs to be super careful. Even if the UN inspectors say that gas bombs were used, he can't make the same mistake that Bush did with all of those assholes around him saying there were WMD's where there were none.

See? We can agree on some things... who knows? You may be part Canadian, part democrat, part tree-hugging hippie like me..!

peace.

The thing is the President has very little power compared to Congress. The people blaming Obama for everything are for the most part uneducated. I'd probably vote for the Green party if I had it to do over again. They match my principals more. Voting for Obama was a compromise to keep Romney out since I live in a battleground state. Romney was a moderate half the time and then an extrmist the other half so I knew not which would be the Romney we would get. I liked the moderate Romney but loathed the wealthy "let them eat cake" extremist Romney.

About Obama, Syria, wiretapping, Patriot laws, Gitmo, I still trust Obama more than I trust Bush though I don't think Bush was as bad as many thought. I'm prone to believing there are reasons why Obama changed his stance on many of these issues. Things we in the public do not know.

I guess we're expecting people to say "omg Obama isn't Jesus after all!" well, news flash (apparently), nobody ever thought he was in the first place.

There's no going backwards, so lets move ahead and see where it gets us.

Although most people probably wouldn't think it, if they even cared which I seriously doubt, personally I'm eager to see Chris Christie avoid the black hole of republican primaries. I'm hoping he watches the other R. candidates race each other over the cliff to the right while he sits there shaking his head and pointing at how crazy they are, and asking if his party REALLY wants another of "those" candidates. I'm betting he will do that and if he does, he has a very very serious shot at the white house.

But going backwards nothing changes imho about who would win even knowing whatever it is we think we know today. We can only guess about whatever other candidate would have done for good or bad.

Over McCain, Romney or W. I'd gladly vote for Obama every time...
That doesn't say much for Obama. It says a lot about the recent GOP candidates.

2016 is already shaping up to be a race decided by the Democratic Party primary.

The GOP needs to drop the teaparty, religious right and corporatists if they want to win a general election. Someone like Christie would be a big step in the right direction.... But they'll likely run someone like Ryan or Jeb and alienate half the population instead...

The problem is the lack of serious opposition.

He didn't go far enough on the health care issue, close Guantanamo, create more transparency or push environmental issues hard enough. His grade is a B- at this point.

Bottom line is he is far more like Bush that what he campaigned as. I wanted progressive and got NeoCon lite. Better than classic NeoCon, but it still has a bad aftertaste.

By far he was the best choice offered in the past 2 elections and yes, unless you show me someone better, I would vote for him again.

Really? So why isn't Obama asking Congress for permission to bomb Syria? FYI, Bush was never a candidate when Obama was running.

republican party has a serious and documented identity crisis. i wonder if obama's policies on drones, the nsa and what he does in syria are going to be fodder to help create a dem identity issue.

I wasn't speaking so much of Syria. At this point honestly I see Syria as small potatoes compared to our domestic problems. I'm prone to being against it but at the same time I realize as a member of the public I don't have all the information. So far I don't believe we are at war. Hopefully it does not come to that. War is a waste.

Yes I know that Bush never ran against Obama. I did not imply that in the comparison.

The funny thing is that if you advanced most of Ronald Reagan's positions today the Tea Party would call it Socialism. For example the Tea Party GOP candidates tend to be in favor of abolishing the EIC but Reagan supported it saying it was ?the best antipoverty, the best pro-family, the best job creation measure to come out of Congress.? Reagan was a moderate compared to them.

The only possible split I can see for the Democrats is with the Greens who could take more votes if the Democrats become too moderate.

it's nutty how socialism is the term de rigueur, i have a military cap i picked up traveling abroad a few years ago, it's fatigue green with a red star, communism. peeps comment on it being so and i usually reply, *well, at least it's not socialism eh*, and that always gets people talking. it's funny how socialism has replaced communism in peep's minds as the ideological boogie man.

I think most of the world laughs at what the American right calls Socialism. It's good that most of the world doesn't know what some on the more extreme right thinks otherwise they would be even more horrified of us than they already are. I think we would be seen as total barbarians like something out of the 12th century.

The right, when moderate, fulfills an important function though in keeping the left honest. I wish they would get back to being more reasonable.

I didn't vote this time around. At this point our only choices are the lesser of two evils. I don't see the point in this.

I think I would still pick him over Romney if I had to choose.

As for Syria, I don't care too much. I think we should stay out. We need to stop getting involved in such messes.

I highly doubt you will find many young folks who bought the dream and still support that scumbag.

I admit that I voted for him the first time around.

You'd have to be blind to not see that he's just as big a scumbag as any other politician.

The entire government is an overweight, unproductive, over spending behemoth of an existence. If a company functioned like our government in the USA functions, it would be BK'd in less than a year.

Nothing will happen though. Rome will fall eventually.

Unless you turn off the TV's and Internet of American's, they'll just stay numb and drugged by the programming fed to them in real time.

Keep giving them their Bieber, and Big Brother, and Real Housewives, and their favorite time killer Facebook and they'll stay in line.

Anyone expecting society to revolt against the government is feeding themselves a "You wish" sandwich. The masses are lazy, self entitled, and just along for the ride. It's what we've created over the last 100 years. The rest of us are stuck with it. Figure out how to make money off of them.

Fuck that guy.

Where is Assad getting his chemical weapons? Did he make his own or did Saddam hide them there, or were the chemical weapons supplied by the "boogie man"?

Oh, I forgot the Syrian government has no chemical weapons.

If the "Syrian Rebels" attacked themselves with chemical weapons where did the Syrian Rebels get the chemical weapons -- did they make them themselves, loot them from the Syrian chemical weapons stockpile (weapons that the Syrian government says do not exist) or were the chemical weapons supplied by the "boogie man?"

This whole deal sinks like shit -- a set up.

I know I would not want to change my vote to McClain or Romney if I could ...

Assad backed down from Bush, thinking that Bush already had all those troops near by and shouldn't fuck with the US, guess he doesn't worry about Barry

think about that

I thought the rumor was that Saddam had them sent to Syria.... (not kidding.)

Then again, I would imagine it's not difficult to make chemical weapons. Any government can do it.

Does the US have chemical weapons?

If anything, Obama needs to be super careful. Even if the UN inspectors say that gas bombs were used, he can't make the same mistake that Bush did with all of those assholes around him saying there were WMD's where there were none.

See? We can agree on some things... who knows? You may be part Canadian, part democrat, part tree-hugging hippie like me..!

peace.
try and see this view: there is no Syria, Syria is only an extension or Iran. Iran is reaching to the Mediterranean sea though Iraq and Syria. building a solid power base to launch 'Iran's' agenda of global domination.... yes I know it's hard to accept however Iran really see's itself as a world leader and if Iran could they would destroy the USA AND Canadian tomorrow.... Iran is racing to produce nuclear weapons which they WILL use or give to a terrorist organization to use... so in essence our asshole president popped off random bullshit at a press conference 'redefining foreign policy' ... that's right mr prince, there was no issue at all about using gas or 'lines drawn' or any other hard line policy against Syria until if became a FACT due to fuckwad not keeping to the teleprompter... so now what?

think Poland in WWII, we have been forced into a position that must be defended... it really sucks for sure... nothing good can come from being forced into this position by loudmouth.... so had Europe told Hitler to fuck off and get his skank ass out of Poland, WWII might not have erupted. once Hitler found out there were no 'teeth or commitment' in anything the powers that be 'stated' the party was on!!!!! Iran world tour!!!!

"Barry" as you call him, has overseen more military successes than W. ever dreamed about. Mostly because "Barry" has been smart enough to pick real targets. Bin Laden... who Bush forgot about, was killed on Obama's watch. Libya was successfully and quickly handled by Obama, Yemen based terrorists are effectively droned by "Barry and Co", Pakistani insurgents have been attacked across the border by "Barry" which is something W said he couldn't do. On "Barry's" watch our troops have left Iraq (where they never should have been) and the 'mission accomplished' banner W idiotically hung on a carrier is closer to being true today than it ever was during Bush's fiasco.

Obama has done plenty wrong. He has failed to restore habeas corpus, he kept Gitmo open, expanded the prism program to spy on US citizens, failed to conclude our engagement in Afghanistan, used drones to attack an American citizen without any oversight - the list of his fuck-ups is long and wide.... but compared to the asshats who bungled their way into Iraq and wrecked our economy for at least a generation under Bush... "Barry" is a military genius by comparison.

If you want to hate Obama, great... I think he has been a very poor President overall... but at least hate him for the many things he actually did wrong, not the handful of things he has done far better than the other idiot he replaced.

But people take sides (and we all know what side Vendzilla is on). One side will see the upside to the positive things and downplay the negative, while the other side will do just the opposite.

I was ok with him his first term but not his second nor the first after I learned of the nsa abuse.

He did what I voted for him to do. That was end the war in Iraq, refocus the war in Afghan and a bonus of getting bin ladden.

I'm not happy at all about the NSA or, the fact that no bankers have gone to jail.

Do I think Romney would have done better... Hell no.

Even with Obama's mistakes and short comings he was the best pick we had. Sadly he has done some of the same shit Bush was hated for.

Far as Syria.. Either way we go with that, it's damn'd if we do and damn'd if we don't. Should it be our problem, nope... But can we really stand by as chemical weapons are used?

Either way as I said we get screwed

But there is no NSA abuse. There was no spying on US citizens. When they finally released the documents, it was revealed that there was no intentional spying on US citizens. Opps, they made a mistake, left out a single digit, and tracked phone calls from Washington DC instead of Egypt.

Don't read the headlines.

Romney was much worse than that. He was a fucking lying piece of shit job exporting flip-flopping disconnected elitist spineless puppet. America would be dead by now if that pussy had been elected. That fucking fool would have turned to dizzy fucking Michelle Bachman for advice. Canadians were shitting our pants for you guys on election night. It amazes me that anyone here would have voted for that low life.

Sure. Any of the negatives would've been amplified with Romney
